Out of all the QBs listed...you lol at Geno Smith?

Geno Smith can make plays with his feet...he had some horrific games this season, but as I said...his potential outweighs his contract. If he tanks and goes 5-11, then we can move on, as well as have the extra cap space needed to improve the rest of the team so we don't need a QB who has to do everything on his own.

By potential, do you mean his league leading 21 INT's with a 66.5 QBR?

lol...lol...lol last in the NFL in comp pct. Near the bottom in Yds/A 34th in Yds/Game Couldn't avoid a sack to save his mom. Top Five INT machine & Dead Last in QB rating. But just like Forrest Gump you quoted it. He sure can run.

I'm not sure why I'm even trying to prove this point...It's not as if I'm a Jets fan. I simply said that IF he stunk up the joint, then we wouldn't really be in too much hot water due to his contract. Anyway...

The guy's a rookie...

Either their rookie season or first year as a starter...these guys turned out to be good players and some won Super Bowls.

Vinny Testaverde's first year as the a starter...threw 35 Interceptions with a 48.8% completion percentage...
Alex Smith - 1 TD, 11 INTs
Troy Aikman - 9 TDs, 18 INTs
Steve Young's first year as the starter... 8 TDs, 13 INTs
Terry Bradshaw - 24 interceptions...30.4 QBR
Jim Zorn - 12 TDs, 27 Interceptions
Peyton Manning - 28 Interceptions... QBR of 71.2

Will Geno be as good as any of these guys? Probably not...but it's a pretty small sample size to be using in terms of determining a guys long term success.

Romo's better than all those QBs and he has the numbers (facts) to back it up.

When Jerry hired Bill Parcells I was convinced he would do anything to win. That ended after Parcells left and I saw the coaches he wanted to replace him with. You just can't ignore it anymore.

You really think Jerry wouldnt do anything to win? Because he believes in a coach fans hate? Because he believes in players that have been with him thru alot? Parcells left because he said he didnt want to coach anymore. He walked out. But what happened when he left? Dallas went 13-3 and shouldve been in the superbowl. This is why players genuinely hate fans in most cases. And yes i know players. I was childhood friends with JD Williams whole family grew up together. JD Williams was CB for the Bills during their superbowl yrs. I know Lorenzo Neal and his family. Went thru highschool with him in wrestling and still talk to him. They both say while they appreciate fans, they hate the majority because we minimalize what they do, just because fans can play a video game they think it really is that easy to go out on a football field and do what they do. And Neal specifically talked about what SD ownership would go and the way fans would act like they could manage the team better. Jerry wants to win and has made good and bad choices. It just hasnt happened. Dallas went from 77-92 without winning a superbowl. So its not like this hasnt happened before. There are 31 other teams trying to get to the same place this team is trying to get.

Its called being delusional and its really kind of sad at this point. 3 years ago I could see why a fan would be that way, but how many years straight of failure do people really need?

Latin mind is just coming out and saying "This team has to really fail and fail a lot for me to open my eyes, and say NEXT YEAR GUYS"

its just that simple.

some fans can step away from the propaganda and say yes JJ is the problem, but we cant get rid of it, so we have to look at other avenues, JG has proven time and time again, certain aspects of the job elude him. No matter the situation, you cant unexplain Chicago, Saints, or the Packers games. No coach should have the injury excuse that many times and still say over three years, 8-8 is acceptable, unless you are certain franchises, hey maybe we have become one of those franchises and some of us fans have to accept that.

For me, id hate to see the Cowboys go that way, but maybe the crowd of acceptable mediocrity is ahead of the curve.

Check your facts, anyone around here should know that Eli lead the league in INTs this season.

Oh I forgot about the bums in front of Geno! The sad thing is, Geno had a solid defense and he still put up 20+ INT's. The dude will never be a legit starting QB in the NFL IMO.

Well, you're entitled to your opinion...but his team still got to 8-8 this year...even with him stinking up the place...I followed the Jets somewhat closely and realized that The Jets won a game and then lost a game...Geno played great one week and then completely crapped the bed the next and the pattern pretty much continued all season.

This is where my problem with some of the arguments around here come from...Geno's team got him those 8 wins...but Romo got those 8 wins all by himself...Neither Geno's losses or Romo's victories had to do with anyone else other than them...

Win a SB? I just want a team that can compete in the playoffs and not be mediocre every year. Dallas did win a SB in 1977 so you're off by one but the team competed until 1986. The team had 5 bad seasons until they returned to glory and I watched them through it all. Except for when Parcells built the team back up, the Cowboys have been mediocre since the turn of the century.. 2007 was the only year since the SB years, I really thought the team had a chance at the SB.
