Nope...only for Manziel!

Seriously though preferably not... in the end maybe for Donald or Barr but that's strictly a need pick so Jerral mite bite the bit and buck the trend.

Eli Manning ran for his life last season, If Lewen is on the board, he is a Giant.

Due to poor interior OL play. Their LG-C-RG was Boothe-Cordle-Diehl. Giants signed a LG, C, and RG in the offseason.

two #2 corners more like, the giants secondary isn't as great as your making it out too be.....

That's besides the point. DRC and Prince will start. Thurmond will play the slot. The Giants do not have room for another corner to take high in the draft.

They would never draft Lewan because Pugh isn't strong or physical enough to play guard.

I guess we will have to agree to disagree. Lewan is head and shoulders above Pugh. Good front offices, which I believe the Giants have, would draft the better player at a premium position and position of need.

I'm still shocked that Pugh was drafting in the 1st round.

Right Tackle is not a "premium position"

And it's not a position of need at all. Center is the biggest position of need on the Giants OL.

His feet/kick-slide aren't as good as Zach Martin's, he's susceptible to getting beat on the inside, he has red flags from character issues, etc.

I disagree with your assessment of the player. He does of some flags about character issues, but he projects as the better tackle IMO.

Pugh outperformed every OT drafted before him last season.....Fisher, Joeckel, Johnson, Fluker....Pugh outplayed them all

According to what?

Hopefully you're not going by PFF rankings. Those have repeatedly been proved to be garbage.

It seems to me that Chicago is the team most likely to snatch him up in front of us (they pick 14th). If Donald is still there at 13, do we trade up 3 spots to ensure that he's our man? I can't imagine it would cost that much to move from 16 to 13 in a draft where everyone wants to trade down.

Thoughts?

We need all the help, i.e. draft picks, we can get so I'd definitely not trade up. Trading down is going to be tough as well since it's a fairly deep draft and lots of teams will be leaning that direction.

By the eye test alone. Fisher and Johnson were turnstiles for most of the season. Joeckel got hurt. Fluker and Pugh were the top performing rookie OTs, with a slight edge to Pugh.

IMO, Lewan is going to be a much better pro than Pugh... but that is just my opinion.

Pugh is a decent player but more like a second round OL.

Pugh is a better tackle than guard...so by moving Pugh inside you are then diminishing his value...which cancels out the upgrade you get from Lewan replacing Pugh at OT

Pugh has never played guard in his career. He was a LT for 3 years in college and started 16 games at RT last year. Why move a known commodity as a proven OT?
