Jerry's financed the entire * thing people. The 350 Million was in addition to the $700 plus million he already has borrowed.

Doesn't anybody have any kind of memory or is it wiped clean with every new day? He's mentioned in interviews years old now that he has financed the stadium.

Nobody who has this kind of money is dumb enough to sink that much into it and let it sit there. Even if it is generating profit, and an interview that Jerry did about 2 years ago said the break over point would be years down the road before the economy tanked, you don't sink that much of your personal capital into the stadium.

Think about it logically. If you have $500K, do you pay cash for a $400K house and then go invest the remaining $100K? Or do you finance the necessary portion to avoid a jumbo rate loan and invest the $350K instead?

Which is smarter? $350K earning you income or $100K earning you income?

Lemme think.....
No, the City of Arlington paid like $350M of the total.

Granted he has made some significant mistakes, but you don't think 20 years as an NFL GM qualifies him to be an NFL GM? Wow your standards are amazing...
The dozen or so years that he's been making the personnel decisions have generally been bad to mediocre. If he weren't the owner, he'd have been fired long ago, and no team would even consider hiring him as GM. Marketing director maybe, but never GM.

Just be glad The Cowboys don't have an owner like Michael Heisley, Memphis Grizzlies owner, since he bought the team it's been on the selling block.

I always wondered about NFL Finances... How does the NFL distribute TV money? One Big check a year? I hear fans say a owner spent ie 200+ million dollars of his money on signing bonuses... Isn't that money really NFL salary cap money? It's not like Owners spend their personal money on salaries...

Do you know that for a fact? This off season Jerry has done nothing but shed big contracts, make Kmart FA acquisitions and trade down to a back of the class draft. From what I read in February, that $350 mm auction rate loan was going to get converted to a high fixed rate note due to lack of market liquidity. I'm sure that his financials were also predicated on whoring out the naming rights to the stadium as well, ooops.

The one truly CONSISTENT element of this off season has been thrift, something heretofore not seen in Jerruh.

Idiot post. The stadium has nothing to do with our moves. We picked up valuable players who didn't break the bank. We have to pay TO $9 million for this year anyways. There weren't any marquee players that we could afford that was actually worth that money. Look at what Canty demanded, you think he was worth that money?

We have a young nucleus of players, and some players such as Ware that will be needing extensions. He is doing things the smart way, we aren't the Washington Commanders. Look at what the Patriots or Steelers do--two teams, in my opinion, that are well-ran organizations. Hell, as much as it stings, you could even put the Eagles in there. Granted they don't have a Lombardi to show for it, but they do things just about the same way as the other two, except may be a little tougher on their money. All 3 know when to let players go, when to resign players, and they realize you can't keep everyone.

All I can say, thank GOD you're not our GM.

could this be why jerry jones didnt go after a big name in free agency or get a top player in the draft?

economy wise, cowboys management trying to get money built back up before they go after top name players in free agency again;

If you think this.....

Really? Which post is idiotic? Clear evidence of an owner suddenly taking a 180 in terms of team spending vs not being able to discern a cap hit from a cash outlay. Hopefully you don't have to deal with money in a professional capacity.

Yet you think you are qualified to tell him he is not.

so if you go see a movie and it sucks are you "qualified" to say that the movie wasn't any good?

if you go out to eat and the meal sucks are you qualified to tell the chef he didn't do a good job?

Sometimes things are done so poorly that you don't have to be "qualified" to notice them.

Put down the kool-aid.

is that the one where he made him eat his parents? disturbing but shows Kartman's true evil. In fact, doesn't Kyle say he will never mess with Kartman again?

Why does being a Cowboy fan mean blindly supporting Jerry Jones for so many Cowboy fans? I know there are also fans out there that hate on him no matter what he does as well. I'm just tired of his act. I would love him to just be the Owner. His ego will not allow for that, so my best hope, however unrealistic it is, for him to have to sell the team. I'm also hopeful that he steps down sooner or later and lets Stephen run the team.

Look, I think the guy is entertaining and I believe he truly wants to win. But I also believe his love affair with himself is holding back the team.

Just think, somewhere on an Oakland Raiders message forum there are fans still supporting Al Davis.

I would root for the Cowboys if Bin Laden owned the team. I am a Cowboys fan. Not liking or no longer believing in the owner does not take away from me being a Cowboy fan.

I drove by it last weekend and it's just blows you away when you see it in person. I've seen probably 1000s of pictures online. But until you see it in person you just don't realize how incredible of a structure this thing is.

I'm secretly rooting for this stadium to break Jerry Jones so he has to sell the team. Love the Cowboys but Jerry has let me down for too long.

Bring on the kool-aid drinkers.....

Danny would buy it and give up the Commanders.

Would you be happy then?

Be careful of what you wish for.

:hammer:

I was showing pics of the stadium to a friend and some of the features and he was literally gagging on the hate.

Loved it. I kept saying.. "Now, look at this." "And see, this does that."

Yikes.

I am aware we could do far worst than Jerry as an Owner. I just think we could do better.

Just remember Jerry apologists, if Jerry would hire a qualified football GM, I have zero gripes. A GM, just like a Coach or player, has to be accountable for his decisions and actions. Jerry is accountable to no one, so when he makes questionable draft picks or free agent signings, we just have to live with them.

You damn well know what I meant, doomsay. Big difference between me mistakenly wording something, and you trying to make a correlation between two entirely different things. Sorry. I know you're trying to save face, but you can't on this one.

cool man. Was this the first time you saw it...I am assuming it is.....

I like to go up there and just drive around the block! It is so cool to see it from all the different angles.

You can see it clear from the guitar center across I-30...Coming out of whole foods it just jumps out in the skyline!

this fall is going to be fabulous.
