Rick gosselin said tuesday that just after the combine, without the pro days he already has 51 draftable wr on his board.

No need to over pay and give up a draft pick for a wr. I hope we draft one though...we need another player at that spot.

This draft is incredible.

There will be guys rated higher than the round they got drafted in every round.

They must have a lot of faith in Otree. That and Boldin isn't a young guy. And is injured a lot. And it's a deep draft so picks are at a premium this year.
I hope they have Ogletree starting right away then. I'd like to see Austin, Tree and, since he has to be, Roy out there week one.

And he drops another FAIL bomb.

Where are these desperation threads?

Besides, Jerry warned us that there would be no sexy signings right out of the gate-- if at all.

Boldin wasnt a FA at all and he was acquired for a song.

assuming he stays healthy it could be a very good signing.

but that's a big assumption.

I have no issue with our approach so far. There seems to be a lot of money flying around to players who really don't deserve it. Peppers for example is ridiculous money in my opinion. These guys are free agents because most did not make an impact enough for their previous teams to want to keep them. If they did the team would offer a contract or tag them.

I really liked how we went about our business last year, obtained "pieces" we needed that made an impact for the year. It is not driving me bonkers that we did not get an Antrel Rolle or something. Highest paid safety in the league? What? Maybe I'm not seeing it but he's not even top 5 money at that position.

Most big name/money signings in free agency are one of two things to me...a team is desperate as hell for change or they're desperate as hell to shut their fans up.

Me too. I'm not worried about the roster that much. I'm not even worried about free safety. We have Hamlin, and our secondary didn't get beat that much with him back there. In my opinion he's the best we've had since Brock Marion.

I think we're OK with Hamlin and Sensy. I think our staff is on board with that too.

meh, a slow offseason is a good offseason. We have holes to fill, but look around the league at who wins the offseason superbowl every year, think the Skins are now 9-0 in this important game, but it really hasn't transfered to the post season.

Dumb thread.

Thanks, maybe it was a dumb thread to start, but I was seeing a lot of posters who looked pretty desperate.. If it wasn't any of the people who replied on here then you have nothing to question the thread for, now it can be locked.. Sorry for making you read a dumb thread

I think a lot of us have that Christmas morning hope that someone described and get the flashiness of the new toy, but this team just needs to be tweaked, not overhauled. They are really close and just need the addition of a few guys in the right spots. Let the other teams spend like drunken sailors. Pick and choose a couple guys that won't break the bank and fill in with the draft. The Jones' know what they are doing. I'm as anxious as anyone, but things will work out. I really believe that.
