seeing how he gets on his players, lets them know what and what is acceptable.....threatening too bench players...getting in their *** about mistakes

and you can see how they respond, like Morgan, who had a drop, then he got all over him, n the next opportunity he got, he mossed 2 players for a TD....

Damn bro, we need a coach like that

not like Wade, who just makes up his face, throws his arms up, like its the ref's fault ...i hate seeing that, get in someones face, make them know there job is not safe, whether its Witten or Ware, let them know you dont play that ****

There is no question this team needs discipline. They tackle poorly. They have too many penalties and they lack leadership, both on and off the field. I've said this for 5 years running. Some seem to think leadership isn't important. Those who think same haven't actually PLAYED the game I would guess.

its true, when you feel there wont be discipline, you will continue to do the same BS... like look at Scandrick and Jenkins, they didn't have no one in there face, but felt there job was on the line, the starting job at least...so they played harder....2 many guys are comfortable with there spots

Wow that was a nice video. Seems he has read some books or taken some seminars on positive reinforcement as well as learning some very useful social skills.

I was thinking the same thing watching him but at the same time I felt sick that not only did we miss out on him but he is coaching the damn Niners.

Who knows what the future holds, but I sure like what I hear from that guy.

He communicates well, is intense, inspiring, played in the league and won a Super Bowl, is in the hall of fame and as a result has to have the respect of his players.

What's really sickening is I thought I heard Jerry was really impressed by him but couldn't pull the trigger, such a shame he's not here. I think he might have been smart enough to know how to manage Jerry. I think Jerry can handle a coach like this as long as that coach is smart enough to make Jerry feel like he's is getting enough credit for success. To me that's the key in any future coaches ability to succeed here. Plus, he's from Texas and I would think might have a place in his heart for the Cowboys.

Man, I long for that type of personality and leader coaching our team.

Singletary was the coach I wanted here in Dallas... I remember some folks not liking that idea on this board....

Jerry had the opportunity, but passed.

Think Ken Hamlin would still be flailing in the secondary if Singletary was coach?

Another stellar coaching decisions in a long line of coaching decision blunders for Mr Jones.

He wouldn't have received that bogus contract if Coach Singletary was here. Jerry Jones is a complete idiot when it comes to being a GM.

Ken would be on the bench by now...Carp, would be traded....and those dumb drive killing penalties by the O-line, would be cut down

this is funny.

when he interviewed with us, i wanted him. i wanted him for the very reason people point to now - love, desire for the game, and doing whatever it takes to get that message across.

but there we so few people who agreed with me it was surreal. no experience. needs time. blah blah blah.

some people you take on their past performance and mike is one of those guys. SF got a steal that people will talk about in here for a long time to come on how stupid jones was to let him go.

even though no one in here really wanted him at the time.

Yeah, because the niners are close to winning a playoff game, let alone make an appearance.

you're right. this could be the hype of a new guy that fades and we all move onto the next hot ticket.

the 9'ers are not about winning a playoff game this year as they are about forming an identity. about setting a baseline for performance and holding people to it.

it's about getting on the right track and having a good feeling about it to make the bumps tolerable, not having to re-explain why they're bumps all the time.

singletary in my mind will be a successful coach. i thought so from the word go and i still see his eyes as a chicago linebacker. you can't teach passion and he has it across the board and he's also a very smart man.

i'm glad people are starting to notice him - he deserves it.

In terms of contracts Jerry & Co. have been pretty good over the last number of years.

Yeah, like a first year coach would have veto power over contracts to players. Singletary doesn't even have that with SF.

Well he better win big early because that act isn't going to work on a veteran team of millionaires.
