then what shirt is for choking in the season?

You guys are asking the age-old question. Never getting close or getting close every year, but knowing that it is just out of your grasp?

small pushes involve at least making it past wild card weekend. As bad as we've been (and I think we're one of the bottom 5 teams in the past 5-10 years). We've at least won 2 wildcard games in that timespan. You haven't even done that.

If you consider choking over and over during the Tuna's coaching time here, "Small Pushes" then so be it. That just means you expect a lot less than the other 31 teams fans in the league. Wait, I get it. Small pushes towards making a run, without ever making an actual winning when the 2nd season starts.. My bad. I thought you meant making a run like the 8 teams that will be playing next weekend.
You're quantifying "small pushes" so that it's more favorable to the Commanders. That's fine, on a Skins site. But it's just not realistic. You won a playoff game in 98 or something - woo-hoo. almost a decade ago, with a completely different regime. Recent history suggests the Dallas Cowboys have a much better direction than the Commanders. A weak playoff victory followed by a plunge into crappiness, with no picks in rounds 2-4, players traded for - given contracts they don't deserve, FA busts, and a mess of a coaching staff isn't direction.

Clearly few Commanders fans would trade messes, because of the jersey colors involved. But when you're talking about a direction a team is going in, and opportunity for progress, bringing up the last decade's playoff history isn't all that relevant. One team has a direction, even if it's not reached it's potential yet, and the other keeps flinging crap at the wall. It is clear to everyone not blinded by the ketchup and mustard which organization is better run, and better staffed, from the top down.

the point I'm trying to make is, one in a worse off situation, shouldn't be the one to talk, idk why pointing at our postseason troubles is a magical way to erase your much recent sucktitude

and remember, I know we started this making fun of your team, but you are worse off, and this is a Cowboy forum, we can object to you poking fun, although there really is no base, your season ended long ago

You have NO idea what direction you're heading. You're at most, a year from a major coaching change, and major scheme change, and starting all over. What happens to your 3-4? Does a new coach go back to the 4-3? Tries the 46? We're both in awful situations right now. Plus, looking at the Saints, and the NFL now. You have no idea where a team is headed year after year unless you're the Patriots.

No, unless you're a Raider or Lions fan, you won't find somebody who'd trade with you.

ah, the old conjecture trick

why stop there? we don't know if all our young talented players will gain 10 years by next year and become untalented, and we might spend all our cap space on FAs this year, making us precariously close to the proverbial cap hell, and might trade all our draft picks to you for LLoyd and Duckett

So, mindless media speculation about what Parcells and the rest of the coaching staff may or may not do = no direction. I see. The Commanders are in an awful situation right now - the Cowboys are not. They have talent, depth, and cap room. Lots of youth that continues to show improvement.

The Skins have....talent. None of the other things apply. They also have a coaching staff that struggles to work together, busts in Arch and Lloyd, an aging BAD defense, and nothing on the horizon (ie draft picks) that can really fix it.

Enjoy your mess.

I love progress. I'm enjoying every second of my team not being disfunctional. Plus, there's this soiree held in April called the NFL draft. It's how good teams get better, and stay consistent. It's a hoot.

is this opposite day? or you're really taking your Communist beliefs to task, 'everyone is equal'
Nah, I just think its funny that we're talking about "close" as being the same as good like its horseshoes.

Alright, I'm in Cali for work, and need to head down to the most boring Regional Sales meeting in a long time.

Enjoy your days.

Well, maybe this season will be the one where you get it right and a rookie gets you over to a Superbowl. There is a 1st time for everything.

Cheers

That's the way the NFL works - year in and year out. There's nothing first time about it. Some day the Commanders will (ok, they probably won't, but just for craps and giggles...) realize that, and stop their annual offseason idiocy.

OMG. This is your rationalization for not having NFL draft picks?

Yeah the same depth and pass rush that has won you guys a grand total of ZERO playoff games in 11 years :lmao2:

These articles over exagerate everything. It's the Washington media, they love drama. I can pull out a bunch of TO "team cancer" articles... I'm sure you will tell me a lot of that stuff is exagerated too.

Point in case... ATLEAST our method got us playoff wins... your amazing drafting in the salary cap era for the past 10 years has net you a no playoff wins. Maybe Jerry needs to fix something of his own.

All in all, I really don't care anymore what happened in the 2006 season.
