. If we aren't bringing back Cobb or Cooper, then WR becomes a priority.
Luckily, Deonte Thompson is still a FA. We got this.

I have no idea what dez would want. seems he's very easily disrespected. cooper had a good year, but there were several wr's who had much better years. Will they play for as little as Dez?

only that from outward appearances he's asking to be paid at least in the top five range. I don't think he's top five. I had no idea dez signed for so little with the saints. reeks of desperation. but for a one day deal, not really that bad.He signed for $500,000 with the Saints.
I'm not sure of your point in saying this?

Was it that Dez was "washed up"? Wasn't it closer to "not worth the headaches"?

Well when evaluating Amari Cooper you have to factor in Dak's success with and without him.
IMO, Amari Cooper is the MVP of our team because he makes our QB better and he is the 1 guy capable of an explosive play.
We go as Amari goes unfortunately.
Dak had a good rookie season without Amari so your theory that Dak needs Amari to be successful is bogus. He needs a good system and game plan like every QB in this league.
question is, does Gallup also go as Amari goes? I really hope Gallup could become the #1 and ideally move on from Cooper, draft a WR rd.1. Elliott's contract really messed it all up. I'd rather use Cooper's $ on Chris Jones or Clowney. But you're right, Cooper has 100% of the leverage, especially trading a 1st for him. My ideal scenario would be resigning Cobb, drafting a WR early, and signing a vet like Breshad Perriman.Well when evaluating Amari Cooper you have to factor in Dak's success with and without him.

Here is a comparison of season-long receiver stats between Receiver A and Receiver B:
Receiver A
79 receptions for 1189 yards and 8 TD's
Receiver B
69 receptions for 838 yards and 6 TD's
How much would you pay Receiver A and how much is Receiver B worth?

Depends on what WR A and WR B did previous seasons
You left out ceiling, that's a very important element, Coop played hurt, and never runs his mouth,Here is a comparison of season-long receiver stats between Receiver A and Receiver B:

You left out the difference in age as well, which directly affect the ceiling.
Comparing Coop to Dez with out including those two variables, is why just looking at stats is just kicking a can down the street.
Coop, can be a WR1 in this league,, even though I wouldn't go there, but Im just a poster responding to an incredibly unjust evaluation between the two, that's the problem with just production stats.
Cooper isn't even worthy of WR1 status in this league, why should he be, he has never proven it.
But what Coop does have, is unexplored potential, amazing upside talent when healthy,, but
has never proven that element.
Coop at a decent price is what this franchise invests in, we always invest in possible potential / ceiling.

Keep living in the past, it will never equate to another ring. How does the fact that Cooper has never had a season that's approached Dez's best affect the usage of the term "ceiling"? How do Cooper's 5-year career numbers impact his "ceiling"?
As I mentioned, we can look at career numbers. They certainly don't help in discussing "ceiling".
With an even more "unjust" use of the vague term of "ceiling".
More grey area with "decent price". This entire post have been full of that ambiguity.
The point is that Bryant brings enough for an opportunity, and a low-end, vet minimum level contract at the $1 million mark based on both guys numbers and asking price..
LOL I see what you did here and I like it. Although I will say that Cooper was hurt down the stretch.
Does that mean he deserves a huge new deal? He does not in my opinion. I think they should tag Cooper and make him play for a big deal. I am too lazy to look it up but I bet the tag is in the $19MM range. That's really good money for Cooper. I also think by then we know if Gallup can be the guy and use the next 2 drafts to find a #2. Then, you have some options with Cooper.
Color me crazy but I think they should sign Dez to a vet minimum + incentives deal and put him in the slot.
I'm there with you, expect I'd be putting Cooper and Cobb in the slot, with Gallup and Dez on the outside (when those formations happen).

Lets try and bring back Jay Novaceck while were at it.
