WR or CB in round 1?

It's funny how those that don't want Ginn...would want Ross.

Must have missed Ginn completely undressing Ross on national TV last fall. It was pitiful.

you could ssay the same thing about Jarrett and Leon Hall...everyone is now down on Jarrett because of some slow 40 times, but most draft people are still enfatuated with Hall, who was absolutely roasted by Jarrett

Sears won't be there for our 2nd unless we do some dealing to move way up in round 2 to get him.

I know. It's just the VOL in me coming out.

I don't think you can. Ginn made Ross burnt toast, left him eatin' dust.

Hall was at times in great position, Jarrett just made some absolutely incredible catches of some well placed balls that not even a Deion Sanders could deny from happening.

I recall seeing Jarrett wide open alot too

as for Ross, alot of people ate him up...

we need a wr and a cb. my hope is we get one in the 1st and the other in the 2nd. if we go wr in the 1st i like bowe or meachem, then maybe wilson or wade in the 2nd and you got both.
cb is a huge need because jones and reeves are f.a., and neither look like they are starter quality players.reeves might be able to fill in for glenn next year but you gotta pay him. get a young guy with more upside and less money

If the best player is a CB at 22 then take the CB if the best player is a WR take the WR

I would agree with that.

I think at this point we'll end up with a CB and a WR on day one of the draft which certainly would help fill some depth issues on this club.

It's going to be close on Sears.

Ourlads has him going to KC on the pick immediately behind that of Dallas' in the 2nd round. They have the Cowboys selecting Marcus Thomas, the DT from Florida in round 2.

No doubt the guy got open....but it was those spectacular grabs that made him stand out in that particular game. And BTW, you can't include me in the 'everyone' is down on Jarrett because of his 40 times.

Well that pretty much goes along with me asking why would the orignal poster in this thread covet such a guy?

I understand you can't give Ginn the credit...you don't like him. I'll stick with what my eyes have seen all along.

It's not that I dont like Ginn at all, its just that I dont like him with the 22nd pick of the draft...I think the other wr's are better at what they're being drafted for- getting open, cathing the ball, run after catch, playing physical etc etc

Ginn is pretty much a speed only guy who is several seasons away from really helping at WR, but does have exceptional return skills that could help...to me, he's more of a guy who'd be a better pick between 28-38 or so

I really do not see the point in worrying about whether someone is worth a 20th pick in the first; or worth the 30th. If he is a first rd pick take him; if not don't. Getting into this bit about where in the round is really gambling; and a lot of times you lose. Trading down because you are sure the guy will be there usually means you lose him. BOTTOM LINE: if a guy is worth a first rd you pick him in the first; if he is worth a second pick him in the second. Try and get cute and you usually lose.

1. Darrelle Revis, Reggie Nelson
2. Eric Wright, Quentin Moses
3. Quincy Black, Courtney Brown

We can't stop drafting on defense now!

How do you think the Bears got to the SB last year?

They got there with a second rate QB, RB, WR and a kick*** DEFENSE!

I'd prefer a top flight corner in the 1st round, they fair better overall, that's a no brainer!

I wouldn't be mad if they picked up Aaron Ross, excellent value because of PR skills..

A top CB is priority number one on my board. Then a good G/C; then a NT (maybe Walter Thomas?) if we get those three then anything else is gravy

If Ginn or Meachem are gone, I say draft QB and then draft WR in the second round.

Didn't you get the memo. Ginn can't play wide receiver. :lmao2:

I would like to take this season and find out about Hurd and Austin- one of them at least should be able to step up- and if not then we know what we need next year
