McCarthy likes to draft WRs and usually big WRs.

Notes about Green Bay drafts in McCarthy era:
10 of 13 years they drafted at least 1 WR.
8 of 13 years they drafted 2 or more WRs.
12 WRs in McCarthy's final 6 years.
Only 1 drafted WR under 6' (Randall Cobb).
Drafted 3 WRs in 2018 and signed UDFA Allen Lazard (6'5, 227).

Green Bay WRs drafted during McCarthy's tenure as Head Coach
Year ….. Ht …... Wt …..... Player
2018 ….. 6'3 ….. 205 ….. J'Mon Moore

2017 ….. 6'1 ….. 220 ….. DeAngelo Yancey
2017 ….. 6'2 ….. 196 ….. Malachi Dupre
2016 ….. 6'1 ….. 188 ….. Trevor Davis
2015 ….. 6'0 ….. 216 ….. Ty Montgomery
2014 ….. 6'1 ….. 215 ….. Davante Adams

It's route......and prove he runs better routes........we can't and you know this.

sorry left off the e on a type-o Prove Cooper is better ROUTE Runner? Cooper's numbers tell that story. Cooper is known as one of the top route runners you can disagree with that all you want. My opinion Cooper will remain but again only my opinion.

Never said he wouldn't "remain".......I would still hold my position.
Known as a top route runner......he's disappeared in games.

I'd like to keep the band together but if it can't be done, it can't be done. We hardly missed Gallup after game 1 when he was out (played our best O at that stage too).

If we do have cash to spend this offseason.....and I know that's unlikely with the free agents we already have. I'd like us to roll the dice on a big splash such as Tyrann Mathieu who's a free agent (I think) rather than throw dollars at Gallup for a WR group that's got plenty of talent.

I'd keep Gallup over Coop......

You’re out of your mind. Cooper is our one and only true #1 receiver.

If we’re being completely honest here, Ceedee hasn’t improved since his rookie year at all. Drops seem to be a problem with him, as well.

I think everyone knows Cooper is a better route runner than Gallup. Cooper is one of the better route runners in the NFL.

As far as overall, Cooper is the better and more valuable player. Gallup is a very good #2, but he has never been the main focus of defenses. Cooper has his whole career. Its really not debatable who is better

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if we spent a top 50 pick on a WR in 2022.
That will be a first rounder, then. Dallas will be picking very late in each round in the coming draft (32nd, I hope).

I never really thought anything bad about Cooper, but last night he took himself out after a drop. If he's going to make statements that he wants the ball thrown his way, then I'd expect him to be in the very next play making up for it. I'm not saying it was an easy catch. I'm not one of the fans who thinks he disappears etc. It just made me think is all.

...Coop is going no where. He loves it here. He'll restructure contract to help others.

No one buys a Dallas Helmet made of Jewels if you dont plan on staying..hahaha..

He takes on more double coverage than any WR in the mix.

id say Turner and Wilson may be slight drop off but theyve been impressive and feel we can cover up Gallups loss with who we have on the roster plus the PS guys..no need to draft really.
I'd say Fehoko has some ability as well.

All depends on what Gallup is offered but I'm pretty sure some GM that needs to win immediately will think his stats were down because he was buried here will offer him way more than we can pay.

Gallup is no where near the route runner that Cooper is, plus to much dead money if we cut Coop. Unfortunately, I think Gallup is gone, but his skill set is easier to replace than Coop's.
I disagree. With the talent part.

Apologies, Coach. I see Gallup as a true threat as I see Coop needing to be more open to be effective i.e. play calling.

JMO, of course.

thats why i said PSD on the Practice squads i mean a lot of players being developed seemed over looked..we have some OL and wrs on the PS in waiting.

i think the way the team is paying add in depth we won't be desperate for reaching for any positions. Will be able to truly go best player available. it will depend on who we keep in FA and add etc then use the draft to fill holes.

No, he's not.

IMO.... They're pretty equal. Gallup is younger.
Gallup is very good at jump balls, contested catches against the 3rd CB on teams
He’s good at double moves but he drops his share of easier catches and he’s not the route runner who can beat a teams top CB
I love Gallup as part of this trio but I don’t think Gallup as a one is gonna be a great player and when you get 10-11 mil a year you are gonna be expected to get open against the top CB on your opponent

No, but I did. This is a discussion board and this was a thread about wide receivers.
Yay for you. I mentioned receivers. Not CD.

Wanna include Turner and Wilson as to further convolute the discussion?

Swing away, tiger.
