Would you have taken Kevin Williams in the 1st round? Williams was faster than Flowers and a better returner.

Also how did drafting all the 1st round WRs work out for the Detroit Lions?

I am not drafting a 5-9 nothing (WR, DB, etc.) in the first round. That is why Jimmy Johnson laugh at Jerry when he wanted Rocket Ismail instead of DT Russell Maryland.
That was like 30 years lol. Williams was not a very good receiving prospect

Kevin Williams' 40 time didn't translate to the nfl. He was a bad Jimmy Johnson 2nd round pick.

Ismail signed with the CFL, Jimmy was not against drafting him. Russell Maryland was a decent non-pass rushing DT (did not have the individual success he had at Miami and certainly not a Cortez Kennedy or Jerome Brown), he wasn't a star player and wasn't given a 2nd contract - he left for the Raiders.

LOVE Zay!
My favorite, feels like cant miss WR in the draft.
I like Hyatt a lot but I think there are more questions about him than Zay.
Getting Zay would be like getting a second Ceedee. Zay has to be on the short list with Robinson where if they are available at 26, you have to take them.

If WR Zay Flowers drops to the Cowboys 26th pick in the 1st round, they should take him. Yes, he's only 5'9", 185 lbs, but he runs a 4.42 40 and is excellent in getting open early as well as spreading the field deep, along with running for big yards YAC and making big plays after the catch. He also is experienced in college at playing all 3 receiving spots. Check out his film...

PFF Fantasy Football also believes Zay Flowers would make the Cowboys Offense so DANGEROUS!

What say you? Should the Cowboys pick Zay Flowers if he drops to them in the 1st round at pick 26?

Yes please. . . Cooks can teach him

I'm not for drafting receivers in the first round unless they're Randy Moss, Jerry Rice or Michael Irvin-types.
Especially not a 5'9 185lb guys.
We need to continue strengthening the offensive and defensive lines. Besides, a wide receiver's success is tied too heavily on the quarterback.
And, well, I won't go there.

We don't need a TE or a DE, so that eliminates 2 positions.

No way in Hell should we use another super costly 1st round pick on Oline. If any Oline coach can't coach up this group of Olinemen, that Oline coach needs to be fired on the spot!

To use a 1st round pick on a Kicker is beyond crazy. End of discussion.

CB is not of need. We already have lots of CBs on this team.

LBs we have plenty, especially since Dan Quinn only starts 2 LBs with the defensive package he usually uses.

RB and WR are the only positions left of dire need. So, once again, which WR (or RB) would you take with our 26th overall pick?
I can't see WR as a position of dire need. We have a No. 1 receiver. We just traded for a No. 2. And that bumps the player we paid to be a No. 2 back to No. 3.

I'm not opposed to adding talent at any position, but selling it as a "dire need" is overboard.

Gallup is not a guarantee he will ever get back to 100%. Brandin Cooks is only signed through next year. What other starting material receivers (other than CeeDee) do we have?

So if Lamb gets hurt you want to bring in Flowers? Our receiving group will look like the Lollipop Guild.

Most of you guys don’t think our QB can hit six foot targets.
good point.I really like Flowers but he is mostly a slot guy.do you want to pick a slot guy in RD 1? my policy is if you pick a WR in RD 1 he better be our no 1 WR soon.

Steve Smith loves this kid. Both are short in size and stature, yet we all know how good Steve Smith was. He believes Zay Flowers is a legit #1 type of WR.

Not sure at what point we started lending any credence to what Steve Smith says. Just another ex-player clown they hand a mic to. Didn’t he break the nose of two teammates during his career? I trust his judgement.

If Lamb got hurt, the WR room would then be Cooks, Gallup, Flowers, Tolbert, Fehoko.. Still not bad.

I'm actually pulling for Johnston to fall.

If not, I also like Hyatt. I think Flowers could be the first WR off the board.

I think JSN should be the first off the board unless someone is sold on Johnston’s measurable. Addison and Hyatt could potentially be before Flowers as well.
Keep in mind Flowers is not only slight in stature but his arms are legit short for his height and he did drop 9 balls last year. Not a clean pass-catcher.

JSN is a bit of an unknown..but I hear you. Hard for me to call it on him because I don't have access to the things our scouting department likely has.
