You are entitled to your opinion no doubt but to say you have never seen a safety play worst then Wilcox then say heath was worst.......well facts say you haven't watched many safeties play.

Figured you had that opinion about Williams

Whatever, obviously its an extreme statement to say he is the worst ever. Really kinda nit picky for you to focus on that statement. Wilcox is NOT a good safety was the point. If we all nit picked every little comment on here, we would argue all day long.

But maybe you can explain to me how Heath is some great safety in waiting when he cant even beat out Wilcox?

He's not, but he's a solid safety who will give us a little more in pass coverage, and a little less when it comes to hitting receivers and in run support. Hopefully Woods takes his spot, but expect Heath to play quite a bit

Solid safety? To me that means a stop gap backup material. Not really who you want as a starter. All he has really as competition is Woods. So unless Woods goes nuts, I would expect Heath to start opening week.

A lot more goes into who's starting than a simple Mickey Spagnola deduction of "well, if he's so good then [blank]?"

Wilcox was a relatively high draft pick (3rd rounder) that was going to be given every opportunity to start. Heath was a small school rookie free agent that's been developing.

It's pretty telling Heath started 9 games as a rookie over Wilcox as a rookie. Going into years 2-3 they tried starting Wilcox and got diminishing returns. After year 4 they let him walk.

Slice it any way you want it. Heath wasnt good enough to play over Wilcox. Cant window dress that. Be hopeful all you want and I hope he makes the pro bowl. But I wouldnt get my hopes up. The proof is in the pudding. And based on their reactions this offseason I dont think they are convinced either.

Oh, you mean like letting Church and Wilcox walk and waiting until the 6th round to grab a safety prospect?

Yeah, they seemed panicked to fill the spot.

Nice one. But, they actually traded up and gave up a 5th rounder to do it just to secure Woods. I wouldnt call it panic, but its clear they are not just going to give it to Heath. And a couple of those guys they got as CB's were heralded as being flexible players with safety skills. OR maybe you just dont like Woods. Are you a Woods hater? LOL

Sorry, but I want a pro bowl level, ball waking safety for this team and for my money, that is quite clearly NOT Heath. So I am going to be rooting for Woods to be that guy.

Makes no sense. The easier play would be to lead the guy and hit him in stride. Also happens to be a scoring play so there's no reason why anyone would choose to throw a less rewarding pass with a lower chance of a completion.

This is a late, but to respond, I was being sarcastic. The point I was responding to was the claim that Heath baited Rodgers to throw it inside, when in fact, Rodgers basically just under threw the guy on a go route. That's how Heath cam up with the INT... A bad throw..
