Xavier Woods

Woods is best suited as a nickel/dime DB.

He’s ok in coverage but lacks the size and tackling ability to be a quality starting safety.

Bingo.

That missed tackle on Coleman (that went for a 1st down) was inexcusable.

That said, I actually like him and think he has some utility on the roster, but I need my starting safeties to tackle. That’s just fundamental.

Heath is 29, he won’t be here forever..I’m patiently waiting lol. I waited for Church to be gone and I can do same for Heath
Man where has the time gone. I didn’t know he was getting up there. Seems like just yesterday, Megatron lit him(and the secondary) up for 200 yards. One of the most demoralizing defeats I ever saw

I think the role he played last year is best for him. He is a good coverage player and has a nose for the, so going forward Id like to see him in on 50% to 70% of snaps. I just want to limit what we ask of him in the run game.

Do you remember Jordan Babineaux for the Seahawks a while back. Played both Safety snd CB in sub packages and got close to starter snap counts. Wasnt really built for either full time, but brought enough to the table that he was a very key defensive player during the Matt Hasselbeck, Shaun Alexander years. I think Woods is Babineau

Haha, Jordan Babineaux was my pup, I was a Senior and he was a true freshman. Our starting SS got rocked one week by a OL and was never the same (scared), so I told our Coach (DB coach at Texas) to play Babs cause he had heart and would never turn down contact or quit. Irony, Babs replaced a dude last name Woods.

I agree X Woods may be the best slot CB on the squad, yet he may just need more time to settle in at FS. Yeah X missed a tackle but it happens... let's see how he bounces back. Size isn't a problem with Woods, courage to stick his nose in there is more of the reason atm.

Yeah that tackle pissed me off, but he’s improving in coverage, if I’m him I’d definitely work on gaining another 10 pounds of muscle and not worry about the big hit, just make the darn tackle

Woods is balling. Woods and Jeff "hitman" Heath are becoming quite the duo. I love how well all of the defensive backs are playing. Woods is coming into his own and the sky is the limit. Woods will be a difference maker in the victory against Brees.

Heath needs to take tackling lessons from Chris "Puntisher" Jones.

Let's just just say, purely hypothetical, and dont hate me for bringing it up, but if we did sign a certain FA FS in the offseason, would Woods or Heath start opposite ET?

I hope Heath gets cut before the next game!

Thank you! I wonder what the Heath lovers are watching during games. He’s just not a NFL caliber starting safety. He has horrible hips, no instincts, takes bad angles and gets run smooth over way too much.

Hes a JAG

This defense would be special with Earl Thomas back there

Good for Woods,he’s making a role for himself. I was pretty hard on him, because I backed him when picked up,and thought he should of have shown more earlier. “Don’t you make me look bad for taking you Woods!” But he’s really come on since getting back. For any weaknesses Heath and Woods are both playmakers, and have been coming up with a nice variety of big plays all year.

Even Aikman says so, and he knows....Oh wait, Aikman says Heath is underrated. Never mind.
