It's easy to find stats that tell you how many yards a receiver averages per reception, but it's hardly ever broken down into how many of those yards are before or after the catch.
TOP 10 Air Yards Per Reception 2007
1 Owens, Dal.....12.3
2 Moss, NE.........12.2
3 Edwards, Cle...12.2
4 Chambers, SD..12.1
5 CJohnson, Cin..12.1
6 Evans, Buf.......11.7
7 Fitzgerald, Ari..11.1
8 Galloway, TB....11.0

10 Burress, NYG..10.6
Taken from the top 50 leaders in receptions, these ten players averaged the most yards at the catch (as opposed to Yards After Catch). IOW, these are the guys who caught the deepest balls, on average. They're all wide receivers, which makes sense. The two players considered to be the best in the league are #1 and #2.
The next two lists are taken from the top 50 leaders in total Yards After Catch. They show the YAC that each player averaged per reception. In the first one, running backs have been filtered out, or else they would dominate the list (as you'll see later).

2 Stallworth, NE...7.1
3 Galloway, TB.....6.8
4 DLee, GB...........6.4
5 Crayton, Dal......5.8
6 Welker, NE.........5.7

The first thing you notice is that there's only one receiver who appears on both lists (Joey Galloway). The next thing that jumps out is that the Packers obviously have the best corps of YAC guys in the league. Very QB-friendly, if you will. I was surprised to see Crayton in the top 5--remember, this is an average, so it has nothing to do with having a lot of catches. It's more a product of defenses focusing on Owens and Witten.
If Crayton can get that many YAC per reception, imagine the posibilites when Felix is added to this mix. Which brings us to RB YAC...
