Let me ask one question. Besides calling Garrett out in a interview by saying the system isn't using him properly, which other players on the team agree with, what else did TO do wrong that was so disruptive to the team that he deserves to be released? I don't want a subjective rationalization that states he brings "too much baggage" with him. What disturbance, with actual verification besides anonymous sources, warrants such a situation?

Besides...

LOL.

Just stop already.

No he said that to Kober I believe in an interview with the both of them after Witten repeatedly stated that he did not know how he got involved in the whole thing.

No, Romo said it to Witten.

Source?

I'm sure if Romo said that to Witten, he was referring to being in the center of media controversy in general.

What OTHER world do you think he was being "welcomed to" when Ed Werder's hack article was posted on ESPN? Tony Romo had never had a story about he and T.O. having a sour relationship posted anywhere before...never had anonymous sources claiming anything about he and Owens before. Not once.

This was the first time either man had anything coming up regarding them and a supposedly contentious relationship with Owens.

On the other hand, Romo's comment makes perfect sense in the context of him receiving constant sensationalized scrutiny in the press.

Couldn't be that, though, could it Dave?

Then again, look who I'm talking to. Even the people who agree with you in the general scheme of things are embarrassed that you're on their side. You're one of those people whom everyone knows "what" they're dealing with within a few posts.

No offense, though. :laugh2:

Ahhh the pot calling the Kettle black. You are on what your third ID?

Good one Jordan.

I presented stats/facts and scenarios. Called your 'cited' analysis out as being incomplete, which you acknowledge. So you, as someone with a typical sheepish blinded hate retort, resorted to trying to win on a belittling moniker (MciOwens). Since you are either 15, or debate like your 15, go finish your Madden game and try not to let mom be a distraction

you answered nothing, addressed not 1 of the Facts/stats I threw at you and basically got pwn3d.

I can only quote from my hero, The Commander, the Great DuaneThomas71, in a recent reply to adamjt: "The fact that you rely so heavily on statistics when it comes to football, a sport that statistics simply do not work for, is proof that you really don't understand the game. You should try following baseball instead. Baseball is the perfect sport for stats.

In football, you can throw a 2 yard screen pass and have it go 80 yards."

we have a chance to take a 9mill cap hit and make our selves worse in the process, go for it Jerry! :bang2:

Next season is already over anyways if we keep Wade and Garrett around, they couldn't run an offense with him what makes anyone think they can do so without him?

Statistics are always a "result", not causality. So only as good as the correlations you can prove. Also, bias has to factored

Stats that are based on half "sample" size and coming across as the "truth" shows more agenda than groundbreaking conclusion

Nice answer. The problem is it implies that you have nothing, and it is merely subjective bias that you want him gone.

for all this ticky tack owens garbage being thrown around, i still havent seen anything thats been said by owens that actually is any different then what romo was saying.

people wanna bring up the deion interview. but what was the first thing owens said? if i come in this interview and say im not being used right everybody is gonna say im selfish. when asked to explain why he was saying the system isn working he explained. "coaches have gameplanned for us this whole summer, and we're not getting the routes we got last yr" whats so bad about that?

he said he wasnt being used to optomize him ability and thats true, everyody said that all yr on every cowboys forum i visit. including this one.

but now because the cowboys had a less than successful season people wanna issue blame. blame the whole team then. blame the whole organization.

Right. He knew exactly what would happen and he opened his mouth and said what was expected and did the interview anyway. Translation? It's more important I complain about the system after the biggest win to date this year than just shut my mouth.

And I've said the problem starts at the top from the beginning. One constant in 13 years of postseason futility - Jerry.

Your right, it is out of control. It has been that way since march of 06.

Good questions, you tell me why we cant win with him. Tell me why the two years he caused problems here we went 9-7 while your at it too.

1996~ 10-6
1997~ 6-10
1998~ 10-6
1999~ 8-8
2000~ 5-11
2001~ 5-11
2002~ 5-11
2003~ 10-6
2004~ 6-10
2005~ 9-7
2006~ 9-7(with Owens)
2007~ 13-3(with Owens)
2008~ 9-7(with Owens)

so, in 13 seasons, we posted the best record with Owens. go ahead and rebutle with your "but we haven't won a playoff game with Owens" garbage, because clearly we were winning playoff games from '96-'05...

Guess you missed the part about his not being used correctly.

Before you even go there, no need to pull out the transcript to tell me how his words were taken out of context.

The major point is what he said himself "if I say something, everyone will say I'm complaining." If it's not about you and you say from the beginning of the interview that if you say something, you know it'll come across as a negative, don't do the interview. Simple. Question of priorities, but nothing new with Owens. And again, this was after a WIN, out biggest win of the year to date.

Yes, I'm repeating myself but it's that important. Team struggling and on the brink, get a tough win, and then Owens does an interview saying he's not being used properly or getting the ball enough.

Yeah, he's ALL about team. As long as he gets his touches.

As far as putting a team together, there are some time-tested truths. Very elementary, in fact. Hire a coach, let him hire his staff and allow them to create a winning culture and atmosphere. Do not interfere with his managing of the players you hired him to coach, allow him to dole out discipline and enforce rules as he deems fit.

Finally, do not force players who have a history of being knuckleheads on your team and back them over your organization or team when they do what they have always done and are the reason they are available to begin with.

Once upon a time Dallas got a win, TO went on TV and said he wasn't being used right and then the team got weally, weally sad and stopped playing well with each other.

The End

It's never been more clear why you are here. Thanks for removing all doubt. BTW, if you ever do decide to contribute something meaningful or insightful, I'd be glad to read that too.
