Only way to fix the Cowboys is hire a GM and Jerry needs to get out of the way. Let the GM hire the coach and let the coach hire his assistants. Draft the best QB in this coming draft. Forget trying to save Dak. He has horrible mechanics and couldn't even run. Now with a torn hamstring he is going to be a statue.

There is NO path to fix anything when Dak is part of that formula.
Year 10 next season how many more do you need to see to finally accept his shortcomings?????????????????
Pappy you need to chill, we have to deal with this mistake for even longer now.
I would suggest taking up a hobby like yard darts or something to get us through this endless burden which is Dak dead weight.

Pappy is chilled he's just having a major laugh experience with the team he once cherished.
This team from the owner to the players is a JOKE with very few exceptions.
The biggest JOKE is its fan base OMG no wonder Jerry gets away with this circus act.
A Tier 3-4 QB is the highest-paid player in the NFL. HA HA HA HA with only 2 playoff wins in 9 seasons and is a walking injury waiting to happen.
You can't make this stuff up................LOL.......
Players who produce 2-3 sacks getting paid like their Elite right Mr. DLaw if he's not injured again.
A highly-paid CB who doesn't tackle.
A LB/DE who is talented but is not and should NOT be made the highest-paid defensive player.
Laugh man laugh............lol

Sadly, there's no legitimate way to fix this without somehow convincing Jerry to let go of some of his power and let any future coach actually do his job as well as hiring a full-time and qualified GM.

Unless he does those things, we're hosed and will continue to be hosed. He just won't do it. You can talk about hiring any kind of coach you want, but any coach would have to agree to Jerry's terms and who wants to tarnish their legacy by not being able to do their job correctly under Jerry? Only a desperate retread or young incompetent without the right training.

It sucks, but it is what it is. As long as Jerry draws breath, we're screwed because he doesn't respect the HC position enough.

Good article..........but I still want Belichick and/or Vrabel
Both! Bring in Bill and Mike. Let Bill be the front office influence and Mike be the head coach. Together I believe they could turn around any team. But Bill would have to be final say in the front office.

The article mentions my greatest fear in the off-season. The Cowboys get a high first round draft pick but this is a weak draft with few sure thing prospects to choose from. After the first 5 picks, there may not be a first round player worth of a top 10 pick. I hope that is not the case and we have another Micah Parsons type slide of a quality player, but what if? The problem is, that may also reduce the trade value of our pick, if we can even find a trade partner.

The draft is half skill and half luck. The skill is taking the best player available. The luck is that player falling to the point you pick. We dig the Cowboys for not drafting a quality DT, but the fact is, the best DTs do not fall far from the top 10 picks and the Cowboys have not picked that high very often. This is why when you draft 4th, you do not take a RB. Or a TE.
