What do you want him to tell them? Wow, you guys suck.. you won't win again this year??

If I was the coach, I would have said pretty much the same thing. We lost, but its ok, still 4 games to go, we are still in 1st place. We have to get things corrected and win the remaining games, but we are ok.

I don't understand why what he said is bothering people.

Yes, a lot of people actually would like that.

I can only guess that they have never been around sports teams, have never coached, or have never been in a lockerroom after a loss.

Yes we have...and you should not tell them it is okay to lose. You focus on how to improve, admit weaknesses and mistakes to address them and overcome them...

Losing should make a team refocus and try even harder, not just relax and think everything is okay. You guys obviously have not been on a winning team.

My guess is Barbie or Witten.

If its Barbie I would cut him, if its Witten I would give him more money.

I'd put my money on it being Crayton. He's already complained of Wade's coddling before.

This is what I would do, first, I should have kept you guys around the bye weekend; had you studying film etc on saturday, while i worked too

Next, I would point out to barber that he has turned the ball over twice in the last 3 games, that has hurt us as a team, chew him out good;

Next, i would be all over sam hurd, you have to know where the 10 yard line is on kickoff coverage, no excuse, make those players accountable

Then, I would say i let you guys get a break, and your werent focused sunday that will never happen again.

I would also chew on garrett, and offensive line coach for not seeing that the offensive line wasnt doing their job. I dont care how jason garrett pouts, its his job as offensive coordinator to get the job done, period

then i would tell them we had a chance to control our own destiny and you guys still play like this, so the gloves are off, your going to work the rest of the year.

Thats what I would do;

Crayton? He of the two receptions and predictable fair catches? Surely he isn't complaining.

Use your head man, .. do you really think he said it is ok to lose, especially after that tough of a loss?

He was letting them know not to get too down after this tough loss, that while losing is tough on everybody, it will be o.k., we will be o.k., if we clean up our mistakes, keep on working hard, and stick together.

It was either that or give them each a pistol and ask them to kindly step into the showers to blow their brains out so as not to make a mess in the lockerroom.

We are 8-4, tied for the lead in the NFC East, the season is not over yet. We have 4 games left to either get it done, or realize that we couldn't.

Instead of everyone worrying about who the player is....we should be worried about the message Wade is sending to the team. This is a loser mentality and message...and it helps to explain why the Cowboys don't respond in December.

I still get sick to my stomach thinking about how Philthy beat us to end last year. With this management / coaching style, we will see more of this again this year. This just blows my mind...how can a professional coach have this weak minded attitude toward losing at the most important part of the season...wow!!!!!

:( :( :(

Exactly.

Nonsense. It is much better to just discount the source, ridicule the writer for not naming them and continue to ignore what could be very relevent.

The same thing happened last year with the fallout after Philadelphia. It was all evil Werder. BSPN. And so on, complete with the dog urinating on the logo smiley.

At this point, I believe everything I read like this. There's got to be an explanation and a lack of faith could be the reason.

I think we have team that has players on it who don't have faith in Phillips' approach. I think as much as they have learned how to say the right things, they still feel differently amongst themselves. They are defeatist. There is a "woe is us" mentality that pops up at this time of year. We don't have guts and we have no idea how to finish. We don't have that extra gear that teams that win championships have. It is fairly evident. There is no fear. This team doesn't play at a high level because they are scared of losing. Ever. Fear is a motivator. When you read about how the locker room was a sullen depressed morgue, that says it all.

The head coach should be providing that lift, not simply doing what he's always done all along. Phillips obviously isn't equipped and our players can't do it themselves because they haven't learned how to win and aren't guided by a winner.

This is the time you need a good coach, a great coach. That's what a leader is supposed to do.

When you're fearful, he's supposed to reassure you. When you're uncertain, he's supposed to reassure you.

When you need confidence, he's supposed to say, "Guys, we're going to get this done. No excuses. And I'm going to prepare you so that you can succeed. We will not accept anything less than victory."

I just don't see Wade as this type leader. I see, "Guys, just go out and do your best. If you do your best, you will win. But if not, it's not the end of the world. We still have four games to go."

All players aren't self-motivators, as hard as that is to believe. They need to be encouraged, reassured and motivated. That's the coach's job. And for those who can't, the coach needs to sit them and put someone in who can get the job done or who will give the effort to get it done.

The divisional team with their backs up against the wall is an excuse that is used way to much. It is December, our schedule is brutal, is our backs not up against the wall as well? Weren't our back up against the wall last December in Philly? This team just lacks leadership from up above, it lacks knowing if you screw up your job could be on the line. Just for one example I will pick on Barber, when Parcells was here he was a beast North and South runner. Because he knew if he did the East/ West dancing he does now Parcells would have his dancing butt on the bench.

Not wade's fault.

Don't believe me? The cowboys haven't had a winning december in over a decade. It's something else about this team, no idea what. Different players, different coaches, different everything.

you can't blame jerry because it's literally impossible to find the exact right combination of this unique type of failure out there, other than just sheer blind luck. that's all i can think it is.

For most of those years we were a losing team -- there wasn't much of a distinction between early and late. As the article makes clear, Wade's teams have always started strong and finished weak.
