I collect tattoos? Not joking.
There are some artists I’ve travelled across the country to get their work. I follow lots of different artists and styles. Trying to get appointments with a lot of them can be almost impossible and a mixture of luck and somewhat of a game. I also go to tattoo conventions, always on the lookout for an unknown artist that is great but hasn’t been discovered by the masses thus making them cheaper and easier to get a tattoo from. I’ve entered a couple of my tattoos in competitions and love talking to about them to other tattoo collectors/enthusiasts or anyone who is curious.
Believe it or not, tattoo collecting is a real thing and I’m bush league compared to most. Although there are some tattoos artists whose work I can recognize easily, I’m not nearly as educated or as “tattooed” as the more serious people who travel the world. Unfortunately it’s not a cheap “hobby”, I don’t regret a single tattoo but I don’t like to think of how much I’ve spent, lol. It’s obviously not an monetary “investment” like some collectibles but oh well, I enjoy it for what it is, not to make money.
