Team chemistry is a requirement for winning.

Cooper publically criticized the O-Coordinator and implied criticism towards Dak.

None of Jimmy, Parcells or Belichick would keep that type of player.

Belichick traded All Pro OG Logan Mankins after one Mankins complained in one interview.

xwalker what Cooper did was make all the rest of our receivers open most of the time....because he usually was being doubled....you are going to pay 20 mil for a good #1.....we do that kind of stuff to ourselves

all the time...but what balances it out is maybe we dodged a bullet with Randy Gregory?....predicting how players play is so tricky sometimes

Was Tom Brady a trade?

No idea what point you're attempting to make.

Teams trade players for multiple reasons...

Players exit from teams per trades.. per free agency, ..per cap casualties .. departures happens.
Case by case basis . It's not always related to an unhappy player/team matters

How is that relevant?.

It was well chronicled that the player I listed was sent packing due to questioning the coaching staff.

It was a piss poor job of replacing him, but it's worked?

If it worked isn't that a good job?
Well in hindsight yes it was a good job. I'm speaking of prior to knowing this. No one knew these guys would replace what Gregory did. We all wanted Von Miller.

Granted there were some mad about him being let go but he never did anything but get a foul at the most in opportune times.
^^^^^^^
This is what I remember Randy most for.
Stupid penalties, including 3 in the playoff game against San Fran last year.
That whole scramble drill and why did dak run with that little time left doesn’t happen without Randy picking up the tackle and throwing him down after the play was past him. San Fran would have been looking at 3rd and long with a little over 2 minutes left in the game.
The penalty gave them a new set of downs and they chewed up most of the clock

I actually remember when all of that went down, that whole issue was Robert Krafts ego

Mankins was pissed because the year he was supposed to be unrestricted free agent was the season in which there was no CBA (that controversial "uncapped year") so they tried to get him on some cheap restricted tag.

Mankins got low balled on the contract offer so he called out Robert Kraft as an owner, questioned his integrity, questioned his desire to build a complete team, and then demanded a trade. Kraft got pissed and rumor has it the status of the contract negotiations was going to be based on Mankins making a public apology. Mankins apologized to Kraft personally but when they asked him to make a public apology Mankins supposedly left the room and refused. Kraft insulted him with a low contract offer and then insulted him by demanding "hey go humiliate yourself to the media on my behalf so I'll look strong to all the other owners and save face for my own ego"

Mankins sat out the first 7 games and then basically said "if you franchise tag me next season your dead to me".

Kraft caved and paid him but to try to get back at him did the whole "you gotta take a pay cut" routine a couple seasons later and that led to his trade. Kraft was basically trying to personally get back at him because he made him look bad as an owner and him and his agent won the whole "whose gonna cave first" thing during the 2 years of negotiations.

The luxury bonus is we get a compensatory pick from Gregory ..and we clearly find his replacement in Sam I am Williams, who is showing ever bit as higher
ceiling and potential impact player than Gregory ever has ...[/QUOTE]
Now This is true. Sam is gonna be much better. I don’t know why I am surprised adGregory. But I was

I don’t think I was ever mad at Gregory. I was more indifferent towards him. It’s not like he was all that reliable…

It didn't seem like a good job to those on the outside with limited information.
The decision makers (who I frequently criticize) got it right and deserve credit for doing so.
I never wanted Von at the price paid for him, giving large deals to aging players rarely pays off.

I get plenty wrong but was 100% on this one so will stand on my take from the off-season:
I am VERY glad Randy got his money and very glad he got it elsewhere.
Dorance is a FAR better value.
Younger, healthier, cheaper.

I was warring with people on this board and on twitter who acted like randy was going to be a 12 sack a year guy the next couple seasons.
Expecting a guy to do something at 29 he has never done is quite a leap of faith IMO.

I don’t disagree. But it was silly. Even from their perspective…. The hey tried to sign Gregory and he’s the one who switched up last minute. So if he never would’ve switched up we’d still have him? They deserve praise. It worked. But it shouldn’t have. Their egos need to know that.

I'll admit I was upset when Randy left. But not at the Jones boys. I was upset at Randy. I don't believe most players should have any loyalty towards their team, because the team doesn't return that love. But Gregory? They straight up paid and supported him when they 100% did not have to. They found ways to pay him even though he wasn't playing. And then for him to to turn around and act like a clause in your contract is your justification for bailing on them? Selfish and disloyal as far as I could see from where I'm at.

The minute it was reported what was going on, I was truly hoping Jones would let him walk even if it was within his power to retain him.
