No he wasn’t a “ jag “ was waiting behind Gregory , was a solid draft pick . You have to have a 47 man roster it’s depth . Joseph has turned Into a DB jag . Gets a chance yesterday gets a penalty early on then leaves with injury . Whiffed on him and Nashon Wright , not Armstrong .
He has as many sacks after 10 games this year as his previous 4 years combined. Two years ago he had 0. So if anything, you could argue patients paid off.

Randy who??????? I like #92 (we like our guys!) , Hat goes off to him. Not sure if he has more sacks than Randy this year, but to me he's grown a lot!!

Randy who?

The issue with the whole Randy Gregory thing is how it was handled. You can't make the case this pass rushing 5 headed monster was Jerry's plan. The teams plan was to re-resign Gregory. When that failed, the team went out and tried to replace him with Fowler , a talented draft bust, and draft a pass rusher who turned into Sam Williams. Both of those guys have panned out. But the surprise the Cowboys really were not expecting is the emergence of Dorance. That guy might make the pro bowl. If the Cowboys knew he was this good, they never offer Gregory that contract.

And it was really sad that they didn't know. Lucky for us CLEV didn't figure it out either.

I keep waiting for Army to settle into being less of a player, and it just ain't happenin'!!!

Armstrong

Pressures 10
Tackles 18

Sam Williams
3

Fowler

The 85 Bears defense had 64 sacks from their vaunted 46-zone. Dem Boyz have 42 so far. I think we can catch em. Edit: 84 Bears had 72. Never mind :D

I can't stand unreliable people, and you can't trust addicts with long-term to commitments.

I was excited when he left.

Yep, I'm still mad, mad how the whole off season, inc Coop, was predicated on re-signing Gregory. The maddening aspect is luck is as good a GM as Stephen.

Mad? I was only mad that we kept him around as long as we did. I wanted him gone several years ago and said so on this forum many times. I’ve got no use for a pothead flushing a career down the drain.

I hated that loser from the day we drafted him to the day he left. Selfish and unreliable. The exact opposite of what makes a winning football team.

You were correct before the edit.

Bears
64 regular season
16 playoffs
64 sacks / 16 games = 4 per game

Cowboys
42/10 = 4.2 per game
4.2 * 16 = 67.2
4.2 * 17 = 71.4

I was never upset at Gregory for finding a sucker who would pay him stupid money when he was coming off a season where he had 6 lousy sacks and a bunch of Offside penalties.................LOL! It's cancer like him, that brings down a team!

I'll say this.....I believe they did a piss poor job of replacing him and bringing in talent.

But its worked. That doesn't mean I'd advocate doing this in order to improve your team because I don't think this is how you properly build a contender through a offseason. But it has worked. And they deserve their credit. They get to feel like the smartest people in the room because this shouldn't have worked.

So resigning Armstrong.... Apparently he is talented.

Probably not nearly as mad as Randy for signing with the train wreck that is Denver.
And for the same money he could still be in Dallas being coddled by Jerry.

...I figured with the guys we added in FA and Trades. That would make up the difference.

Turned out better than expected.
