I would say it's the year of the storied franchises. Technically, Lakers and Yankees won in 2009, and so that includes the Steelers from the NFL.

Yankees and Steelers have the most championships in their sports. Lakers are no. 2, just behind the Celtics. But I consider the Lakers a more storied franchise as they've won rings in numerous eras, while the Celtics have had two great eras and another one that is TBD. Lakers have had separate dynasties in the 50s, 70s, 80s, and two in the 00s.

Its been almost 15 years for Cowboys.

The 90's were great for me.

92, 93, 95 Cowboys
96, 98, 99, 00 Yankees (2009)

actually, the year of the hated franchises is incorrect.

It was the Phillies, Lakers, Steelers, and Penguins, oh and Florida Gators if u want to include college football. I honestly forgot who won the NCAA basketball tourney.

So this year it will be the Yankees, plus whoever wins all the other championships
