What pick will DMac be available at??

The old draft trade chart is just about obsolete, but let's use it for this hypothetical.

We have #6 and it is worth 1600 points.Your hypothetical #28 is worth 660, for a total of 2260 points.

#5= 1700
#4= 1800
#3= 2200
#2= 2600
#1= 3000

So, in theory, using the old chart, we could move from #6, to #3, using the #6 combined with the #28.

Would i do #6 and #28 for DMac if he were there @ #3? YES! Would i throw in a 3rd as well(about 300 points) to move up to #2 for DMac? YES!

Then i'd take the best CB/WR in the late 2nd/3rd and work off FA for my other needs.

OMG
What a draft/fantasy geek!

The college season has just started and already you are crunching numbers like a college rock geek hung up on Fall Boy or whatever they are called.

These scenarios, based on performances of college seniors and juniors, based on who or doesn't shine for the Cowboys, based on injuries to the Cowboys, based on needs that develop for the 'Boys, based on what other teams are situated before the 'Boys ... can you grasp the variables?

Probably not.

Dude, the season is about to start! Get off the draft board!

He was just answering (accurately I might add) another posters question. I'd love to have this thorough of an answer for any of the questions that I ask on the zone, as I am sure others would. If you have an issue with that, read some other thread. There's no point in belittling somebody for absolutely no reason.

I used the term draft/fantasy geek with all due respect
Are you, too, a draft/fantasy geek?

I am not sold on any one guy at this point. I say let the seasons play out and 1) see whos stepping up to be worthy of the #1 pick, 2) see what you need more, a franchise RB, WR or an elite CB (to pair with Newman) or a Pass Rushing monster? Leave yourself as many options as you can. Maybe you can trade down a few spots and pick up an extra 2nd or third and still get the guy you need. You can certainly package and move up anywhere in the draft.

huh???

Ware & Spencer not enough for you?

I think it's way too early to do any speculating. Just look at how many spots Leinart and Quinn both dropped in the last two drafts based off projections. Then you end up with a sure franchise-saving game changer in Reggie Bush and Houston takes Mario freakin Williams ahead of him.

I mean, so much happens for even these "sure picks" that it's ridiculous to even try and figure out where McFadden will be. Another point...take away Adrian Peterson's broken collar bone (which really didn't change anything about him but his final year stats) and he's probably a top 2 pick. Who knows what will happen to McFadden between now and draft time.

Or, lets say he has a heismann winning, ridiculous year but then contracts the flu and runs like a 4.8 sec 40 at the combine. This will definitely turn off like 20 GMs since they're all so giddy over combine scores. So much can, and more than likely WILL, happen over these next few months that we're just gonna have to wait and see what happens.

I say we focus on getting that 32 pick in the meantime!

Very well said.

I enjoy draft speculation, too, but the timing is a little off. The season starts this week.

if we dont get a top 10 pick... i say we go with slaton or rice (ill be happy with either) and a solid CB with our 28

or a shutdown CB with our first overall
and hope that either slaton or rice are still there by the time we are up again.

the trouble is people start looking *now* at their favorites and get a closed mind to alternatives or changes.

when the draft comes around they've sold themselves on a few players because they watched "so closely" their every move. not the move of *all* players, just their favorites.

so when that player doesn't get picked they get pretty upset and call the draft a bust because who they wanted a year ago we didn't take.

ok, i'll say t. if we don't get mcfadden, screw it - take RB off the list and go w/bpa at 2-3 skill positions.

cb
wr
rb
ot

ot could be a bit high given we spent a few picks last year but if they're the best take 'em. i've never heard anyone complain the line was "too" good.

if hurd and crayton have good years, and TO comes around for another bout and even if we lose glenn - 1st pick?

no.

CB is about to be a position of need. we've filled the OL and if our WRs step up, we're to look in the secondary.

for the eduncans saying I TOLD YOU this is contengent upon the WRs panning out, romo panning out, and the fact in the last 2-3 drafts we've addressed the OL adn LB positions so we can look elsewhere now. so stop the "glory dance" cause the dial finally landed on you.

before i really spend a lot of time caring about who we must have, i've got 16+ games to watch before i know.

this is why draft speculation is so silly to me. have fun, talk, sure. but it's like watching slow motion in thought to me and i can't help it - it bugs me. i'm sure things i do bug others so we're even in the end.

but right now we simply don't know who we'll need, so why make it an issue a year before it becomes one?

Funny thing is, as everyone who has viewed this thread can see, Hos made a post just under mine giving the same exact info, plus Hos even gave a link to the chart. Now let me ask you this, why wasn't your little tirade directed towards him as well? Maybe your name should be "GimmeSomeBalls" because i've seen 7 year old girls with more, Blutto;).

OBTW from what i've read on the zone, you're pretty SHORT on the schtick as well. Ya know, they have pills for that nowadays:)
