Other thing to keep in mind is that Dak is north of 30 now. Average retirement age for QBs is roughly 34. Not everyone is Brady/Rogers and playing into their 40s. While it's possible Dak could still improve hes most likely hit his physical peak as an athlete.
You’re right be he did just have the best year of his career.

The WORST QB you can have is a middle of the road QB paid like a top 5 QB. This doesn't allow you to be bad enough to get top draft talent, but hampers the team salary cap wise, where you'll never win it all.

Get out of this dumb Dak carrousel....it's always going to end the same way, disappointment.

Jerry is no longer bold. They will extend Dak. Even though we all know it is Groundhog Day, Jerry will believe we are on the cusp.

I think most of us here are aware of that.

Jerry is not. Jerry is not quick to cut bad investments, or admit mistakes.

Good thing he isn't middle of the road then huh?

All Pro is not middle of the road.

It’s like an NBA team that is constantly the 7 or 8 seed.

Never get lottery picks but never good enough to beat the elite teams.

It’s a brutal cycle.

Since 1980 only 3 QBs (Matt Ryan-9 years, Peyton Manning-9 years, and Ken Anderson-10 years) has been their teams starter as long as Dak before making it to their first Super Bowl.
Let Jerry Jones die on the Dak Prescott hill, his hubris is going to be the reason he won't see another Superbowl before he his time is up.

Any other front office in this situation would have moved on from Dak at this point.

SBs are about more than QB play.

Romo had an MVP level year in 2014, and a 143.6 QB rating in the loss against GB, and that's with the UnCatch robbery.

Dak had his best year ever. It's unclear that he can make it over the hump against good defenses. But he has been improving.

He had his best year ever?

Getting dog walked by Jordan Love and the Packers in the Wild Card game when you're the #2 seed? Making you literally the worst/biggest choker in playoff history for a QB that has at least 5 playoff starts?

Ohhhh!!! you mean his stats? My bad.

I guess we have different opinions on what a good year is.

What year did Elway do it? I thought he was on the list for sure
Before *winning* first super bowl for sure elway was well past 10 years

His criteria was *making* your first super bowl and Elway and Denver made it in his 3rd year

They got obliterated but they did make it

A year is more than one game.
Dak is not even on the field at the same time as Jordan Love. How was he dog walked by Jordan Love?

The fact is Dak played better than he ever has this year, and was just as bad in the first half of our playoff exit as he has been in our other recent playoff losses. So yeah, better this year.
