you dont have a blank check
you cant fire Jerry

seriously

to be in the playoffs every year
you only need to beat the east. you can fine tune the defense to stop their strengths
you know you got at least 5 years of Wentz and 10 if he keeps playing well

Cousins may go

Eli will go in the next 2 or 3

you know what each of those 3 do well and what they want to do

my take is with the receivers Giants and Skins have a pro bowl caliber safety is a must have

a 1 tech that can push the pocket and stop the run
guy like Wentz i just try to collapse the pocket and control the edges
both Commanders and Eagles have elite tackles but they are getting old for nfl players
of course they can replace them, but its a thought

i trade or draft a safety to play with Woods
secondary has to be a strength

you have to push the pocket and make the qb easy for your ends

Dallas needs a fast linebacker
not a general, just a tackle machine

those 3 make the defense able to compete with top defenses i think

Got to have a big time player in the front 7 this coming draft, either a LB the offense must account for or a big time interior DL guy, or maybe both.

Ideally you want a stud 1 tech and a linebacker or two. The problem is that needs don't always line up with availability.

Just go BPA regardless of position, offense or defense. Jaylon may yet turn out to be the LB we have been looking for, but Lee is long in the tooth. He won't last forever.

We can get by on the DL as long as we find a way to keep Lawrence and Irving. A run stuffing DT should be easier to find than a war daddy. Hell, we found McClain basically off the scrap heap.

Yes. But we still need one who can collapse the pocket. I don't care if you take one in the draft or free agency. Just get one.

You find a way to stack that d line. We've already done the thing with investing a ton of resources in the corners. They still get lit up with great quarterbacks when they have an hour to throw due to our d line applying zero pressure

Foster would have been perfect in last year's draft

It's not overly difficult to recognize the Cowboys' shortcomings. There are most assuredly at least a handful of acquisitions that would most likely serve their cause well, if and when the opportunity presents itself.

Since the draft is considered by the Cowboys FO as their main avenue of procurement, the best available contributor to resolve their shortcomings should logically be pursued first and foremost. Otherwise, veteran FA will probably be used sparingly and very affordably.

Hopefully, some sorely needed defensive resolutions such as LB, S, DT and DE will be available early in the draft but in lieu of their absence, the best available athletes at positions of need will likely prevail. On offense, a LG, WR and OT would be priorities.

I like your choice of dt1&lb even through I think Smith will be a player nect year Lee will get longer toothed.
You know,I read the comments about safety and not sure that won't fix itself.I like Jones and I think our rookie will do a great job soon. Heath is the problem. Just my two cents.

Yep. That's about right. The draft is certainly the road ahead.

I am curious to see what becomes of Jaylon Smith and how much gas Lee has in the tank. The LB and DL line certainly needs to be looked at in the off season.
