I don't know what the debate is about ... but Romo won't last 3 plays.

There are many times someone will make a FACTUAL post about Romo and people here will go off on them. It bothers me zero, but for example I made a thread yesterday that simply stated "Romo 2015 stats" with his stats listed and a lot of people went off on me.

I don't know why posting something factual with the purposes of debating it is considered wrong in any way. We are just fans and all of us have different opinions. I don't think Romo has accomplished anything of significance other than underachieving with a stacked deck his whole career.

Just my thoughts, I wish nothing bad on Romo, just don't think he is an NFL quality QB.

Probably because your post reeked of cherry picking. If I were to start a thread entitled "Dak's second half giants game stats", people would be rightly suspicious of my motives.

lmao. That's taking it a tad too far.. (& trust me.. if I am telling you that it's true).

Some around here like to label me as the biggest Romo hater when I am really nothing more than a fan that has had his heart snatched from his chest thanks to Romo on more than one occasion over the years.

So, take it from me, Romo is a quality NFL QB. He's just at the end of his rope and desperately hanging on by threads.

You've been a troll on the topic and are one of the few I had in mind when I made the thread.

I suppose you believe that our bottom feeder defense in recent years has led the Cowboys to most of their wins? LOL

Your using facts which support your agenda. I've been critical of Romo on many aspects but to say he isn't why this team has been more than a bottom feeder for most of this era is a horrendous oversight which is either ignorance or hate driven by an alternative motive which in social media could be defined as trolling.

Romo is one of the most over achieving undrafted QB's in NFL history. His personal stats on an awfully built franchise for most of this era is incredible. Our defense for a sustained time in recent years rivals our stats going back to our early expansion years. Granted Romo hasn't been enough to elevate us more.

It's disgusting to see so much of the fanbase turn on Romo for the shiny new toy. I know most of the fanbase is appreciative, but there's a loud and growing minority that's adopting the national, ESPN, TMZ narative on Romo to justify their stance on the current QB situation. Can we stop with that?

Amen.

I think as long as people make ridiculous comments like "Romo is our only chance of winning now" and "Romo is a better QB than Dak now" both of which are flat out complete lies... Then you will continue having people point out the FACTS on Romo.

When certain folks admit the TRUTH that Dak is a much better QB overall than Romo ever was... I don't think we will see any more Romo fact posting on here. Fair enough?

Romo doesnt get any credit within the cowboys circles.

I have had espn on in the background all day, every show has had something negative to say about Romo everyone. Same with that awful fs1 station. All day long on local radio they use non factual statements to bag on Romo.

I was just listening to Steve Dennis on espn 103.3 while cleaning up after dinner. He just said Romo shouldn't play and that in 14 Romo only made 4 or 5 big plays and the rest was all murray. He was serious. Then he also said Romo is not a Leader and only appeared to be one because his back was hurt in 14 and he couldn't move at all and make big plays. What does that even mean? Insane.

don't even get me started on the cowboys postgame show which is just gbag nation on 105.3 the fan trying to figure out how to get out of romo's money and get rid of him 5 minutes into the postgame after a big win?

the local media has been awful to Romo and have led the way in misconceptions and false narratives which turned into national stories.

meanwhile, Phillip Rivers does nothing but lose in SD and he is not mentioned at all and when they do bring up SD its real quick and they will have a blurb about the coach being fired.....Same for Matt stafford. Its nuts. Phillip Rivers should be under the gun more than anyone, his organization picked him in the top 10 and dumped drew brees for him....and he never wins.

anyway. I can't believe the crap I am hearing today about Romo, I can't believe what suckers tv viewers and radio listeners are and how gullible and naive people are about this stuff.

If it makes you feel any better, I've seen/heard Carolina fans say that Derek Anderson might run the offense better than Cam...and DA threw two picks yesterday, lol.

He's been posting that in every Romo/Dak thread on this forum. Don't know why he keeps insisting on 3 plays (maybe a favorite number?).

Lol! Very nice observation, Weav! Notice how he didn't answer me, too. Just hot air... :)

It's also possible that you could fall out of love with Dak if he struggles the next two weeks. Romo is my quarterback as long as he's the better of the two. Most people believe he's brittle so Dak will play again this year. Dak, to me, represents hope, the future. We appear to have gotten lucky again. I still believe in #9. Now if Dak gets us to 5-1 at the bye, my opinion could change. The road gets much tougher this week. You can only play whoever is on the schedule and it's been soft. Let's see what he does this week against the best defense he's seen.

they are out there.

I have told this story many times but back at the stadium a few rows behind me there was a guy who would sit and yell after every time something bad happened like the other team scoring or int etc.....he would stand up and start yelling go back to New Jersey we don't want you here...This would continue for all 4 years. I used to be in disbelief.

at the new stadium I had two guys behind me in seats 1 and 2 that would do the same only with romo, every incomplete he was a bum.

Fans like these are the reason local beat writers and media that cover the team think all fans are morons who know nothing and understand nothing.

I don't know what the debate is about ... but Romo won't last 3 plays.

Then why are people advocating leaving Dak as the starter? We put Romo in against the Eagles on Oct 30 and three plays later he is hurt and then Dak takes over for good.

Why the handwringing from everybody?

How about Dak beats a team that is above 500 before we anoint him better than Romo ever was?

Sorry, but beating scrub teams like the Bears, 49ers, and Skins are not doing it for me. How about wins against teams like the Packers or Steelers and then we will talk, deal?

It's not about players' feelings. It's about being a fan base that appreciates that these are still people we're talking about and that they're working very hard to be as good as they can possibly be at things are are very, very hard to do at a high level. For guys who run 8.5 forties to sit back and anonymously mock a guy's 4.5 while a bunch of other 8.5s pile on because they can is just embarrassing on some level, don't you think?

Breaking a rib, puncturing a lung, and still winning a game earns respect from people who understand how hard those things are to do. It earns a label of 'chicken' or 'old man' from people who do not. Being in the former group, when I see the latter happening, I'm going to point out how little respect I have for those labels.

Same could be said for anything. Like some "regular" person mad when an app on their phone is slow is disrespectful to people who worked hard to learn how to develop those apps... Either way, that wasn't my point. My point was, I'm a Cowboys fan before a Romo or Dak fan. I want what's best for the team. What I think would be best for the team at the moment would be to find a way to get Romo's contract off the books so we could take advantage of having a cheap starting QB for 4 years, similar to what Seattle did. That doesn't mean I don't appreciate Romo. It just means Dak has proven he might be our future, and our team has serious defensive holes regardless of who our QB is. That being said, Romo's contract won't get off the books, so we'll have two good QBs on the roster for the next few years. Not a bad problem to have.

I'm sure a lot of us appreciate the kind of player Romo has been for this team over the course of his career.

Having said that, him coming back doesn't instill a lot of hope/confidence. I don't think this team is leaps and bounds better with Tony Romo at QB over Dak Prescott at this stage in Romo's career. I think Dak gives people hope, something new...something that hasn't been seen before.

There seems to be this chemistry with Dak under center that isn't there when others play QB...he plays with poise, leadership, and he's very careful with the ball. A lot of people would like to see him throw the deep ball, but I'm happy that he and the team are sticking to what they know best - ball control football with a strong running game. If they continue to win, there shouldn't be any reason to replace Dak with Romo... none whatsoever.
