Let's NOT lose sight of the fact Romo is a 4th year QB, not a rookie people, some of those throws you can't simply make! I'll give him nerves, being it was his first real action in a meaningful scenario but you still can't throw the ball in some situations as he did.

Yeah, just ask Drew, you have to stop those rookie mistake interceptions at some point early in your career. Especially the costly ones wek after week in the red zone. They might hurt you.

maybe this will be innappropriate to some and perhaps offensive to some if it is I beg forgiveness...but right at this moment I feel so free of the Bledsoe burden...I could not think of the appropriate words...but I remembered hearing a speech giving when I was a little Zaxor and it sorta sums up how I feel though the Great Martin Luther King Jr. meant it for a much more nobler cause

it is how I feel

Let freedom ring from the snowcapped Rockies of Colorado.
Let freedom ring from the curvaceous peaks of California.
But not only that --- let freedom ring from Stone Mountain in Georgia.
Let freedom ring from Lookout Mountain of Tennessee.
Let freedom ring from every hill and molehill of Mississippi. From every mountainside, let freedom ring.
When we let freedom ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual,

I disagree. If the dance would have been over board then it was wrong. But that dance was more like he was trying to fire up his team. And it work. The D held them and the O drived down the field only to watch a int returned for a TD

From Superpunks original post:
"You wanted blitzes? You wanted Zimmer to sell out and come after Eli? You got it. You got a bunch of players doing what they always do - run into each other and give Eli a perfect pocket to pick the outside apart with. You got him doing just enough to step back and find the open man. You got EXACTLY what you wanted, and it failed miserably. I'm sure Zimmer will get blamed, like freaking always. Nothing is new there."

I prefer to call that blitz package, seemimgly the only blitz package we have, the "Zimmer Scrum"...or,"everybody head for one hole, and our sheer weight will force an opening". Zimmer has to go!!

Another thing that chaps my ***,does it seem like we stop teams on first and second down, only to have them invariably pick up the first on third and long...all the time?? Zimmer has to go!!!

I loved the move to put Romo in. The playbook opened up when he was put in. Yes he made some mistakes, but that's expected since this was his first real performance – even though he played at the end of last week's game.

The blame for the miscues goes on Parcells. He knew weeks ago he was going to make the change. Why wait until you are on MNF playing a divisional opponent and the winner takes the driver's seat. The change should've been made after the bye week or the Houston game at the latest. That would've given him more game-time experience and an opportunity to get acclimated against weaker defenses.

He'll get another opportunity next week against another strong front four. But, this time he'll know what to expect. I'm more optimistic about the Boys going to Carolina now.

If you can't take awfull mistakes and ugly interceptions, then you don't have the stomach to break in a young QB. They all do it. If you can't handle it, just resign yourself to Vinny and Bledsoe.

Right on InmanRoshi. Weren't folks sneering at Eli Manning over the last two seasons. And he has had considerable more blue chip football experience, professional support than Romo. I am actually optimistic right now with exception of the Oline.

Down 5, entering the second half, you got what you wanted. A glimpse of the "future" of the Dallas Cowboys. And you know what? I understod the move. I supported the move. I knew the move was coming before they came back from commercial. This team was doing nothing with Bledsoe. The line couldn't block for him, he made another horrible mistake to just suck any momentum the team had right out from under it - he NEEDED to be pulled. There was no other option. But then we got what we wanted. We got Romo believing he could throw the ball through Michael Strahan.

19-7.

But Romo bounced back. I make jokes about the moxie, but he's got it in spades. Before he came out after the half, he was rallying the team around himself, and they were ready to fight for him. Even after his INT, he was ready to come right back and fight.

And then TO struck. More than anything else on this night, I hate TO for an evening. Romo led the team downfield. He converted a 4th and 2 to the most complete WR in the league with a wide open field in front of him, and that WR dropped the freaking ball. There was no threat of a hit, no footsteps, no Michael Lewis, he dropped the freaking ball. A catch a pee-wee WR makes, he dropped it. And that was all she wrote. Our overrated defense folded like a deck off cards.

You wanted blitzes? You wanted Zimmer to sell out and come after Eli? You got it. You got a bunch of players doing what they always do - run into each other and give Eli a perfect pocket to pick the outside apart with. You got him doing just enough to step back and find the open man. You got EXACTLY what you wanted, and it failed miserably. I'm sure Zimmer will get blamed, like freaking always. Nothing is new there.

To sum up, Romo has to be our man now. How can we go back to Bledsoe, when we've seen the flashes we've seen? Hell, if Romo can understand that it is physically impossible to throw the ball through Robbins and Strahan, he might be unstoppable. But there will be growing pains. It's inevitable.

I just hope the 25 million dollar man ceases to be part of the problem. And he can stop the idiot dances when we're down. Save that for when you catch the freaking ball on freaking 4th and 2. It'll mean alot more.

I also hope everyone realizes that a WR by himself, no matter how good he is, is not the Savior for a team.

See Randy Moss. See TO as examples.

P.S. Please, TO, don't complain about anyone else not stepping up in a big game.

I wanted someone on the team to walk over and get in HIS face after he did that. Someone needed to give him hell. And noone, not even Parcells, had the balls to. I don't think most people considered him a savior so much as a very nice piece to have. (although some hero worshippers might have...) It's just enormously disappointing to watch this defense. That's where I thought we were going to the playoffs.

Todayayayay Iiii consider myself the luckiest man on Earth.

Seriously, I felt like a five year old walking down the steps Christmas morning when Romo walked onto the field.

Romo may end up a stinking up the joint for the rest of the year but Bledsoe's gone.

There's no guarantee Romo will lift that yoke of mediocrity. Would you really accept that kinda play from him last night if lasted over several games?

If he's the starter Romo's got to play better.

:laugh1: Exactly. Everyone who thinks Romo will necessarily be better might be in for a rude awakening.

BUT... We weren't going to win it all with Drew, and Super Bowls are what we're all about. Now, we'll get to find out if Romo is the answer or if we need to spend a high pick or trade for a QB. Personally, I think it's the latter, but either way, we're *finally* on the way to getting a QB that can win big for us.

Obviously.

The difference is we know Bledsoe won't play any better. And after getting benched once, I think he'll be even worse if we go back to him. He's already so afraid of making a mistake he's holding the ball too long and relying waaaaay too much on Glenn. Knowing his job is on the line every time he drops back is going to compound those problems exponentially IMO.

Maybe. There's really no guarantee any of it will work, or Fisher won't bring in Volek next year. ;)

I'm not even interested in discussing Bledsoe. Bledsoe is what he is. Sometimes good, sometimes bad, and sometimes horrific. We knew it coming in.

My issue is with some folks, not all, ready to annoint Romo, as if his play had nothing to do with the outcome of the game last night. He's not exempt from being criticized for his bad play nor some of his bad decision making. It's the nature of the QB position and he is not excused from criticism. Folks are willing to say they can accept his mistakes more than they can Bledsoe's. Mistakes are mistakes. I don't care who made them. He does not get a free pass.

I liked how the team seemed to respond to him. I like the quicker tempo of the offense, but every throw he made scared the mess out of me.

You mean you weren't completely confident in those outs to Terry that seemed to float for-freaking-ever?

No doubt, WG. I'm kind of surprised at all the people who think he did such a great job "except for the turnovers". Those boneheaded interceptions are exactly what loses ballgames, no matter how many other pretty passes are completed.
