I am pretty sure that if you were to put up Romos 5 starts against the rest of the leagues QBs 5 best starts and he still comes out on top.

Elite play is elite play.

Someone on the Giants board said he hasn't faced any good defenses yet, but I think Carolina and Indy suffice.

After sitting through years of a quarterback turnstyle, I'll gladly allow myself to throw out the occasional hyperbole when it comes to Romo.

Not only has he been great for five games, but he's a damned pleasure to watch play the game. If he has any sort of success long-term, he'll go down as one of the most revered Cowboys simply because of that loveable, fun style.

There's obviously a lot Romo has to still prove -- namely, can he perform like this in a playoff game? Or is he going to be another Manning type that suddenly looks average in those settings. These are questions that can't yet be answered.

But I agree with you in that I'm not sure I buy the 'he hasn't faced a good defense' argument. Indianapolis, while not oozing with defensive talent, forced him to play a completely different style of game. They're so fast up front that Romo had to get rid of the ball quickly. The fact he played well in such an atmosphere pleased me.

Romo continues to show that, in all settings, he can excel -- be it at home, on the road, in the pocket, rolling to the right or left, etc etc etc.

I'm sure "good" defenses will stifle him a little more. But, as you said, I think he passed two fairly significant challenges in Carolina and Indianapolis, in that they forced him to change his style of play.

On this same note...doesn't Chicago have the league's "easiest" schedule? Tough crapola. They've looked good against who they've played and that's all we can measure them by. Same goes for Romo, in my mind.

We are sickening ???

No offense dude, but if you are not absolutely LOVING the last five weeks as a Cowboys fan, well, you may as well hang up your cleates because it doesn't get much better than this.

I have been a fan for over 40 yrs, and this is one of the most exciting times that I can remember, that we weren't winning a Super Bowl.

You can sit around and bite your fingernails, and fret about what might go wrong, but as for me and my house, we shall be fired up about Romo !!

:laugh2:
