You Guys Have a Huge Amount of Lots of Work to Do

i still can't stop laughing at the thread title " huge amounts of lots". i love proper english:lmao2: . please come back and post more I can use a good laugh everyday. I also like the bold one time superbowl champions in the power ranking thread, but nothing in bold about the 5 time superbowl champions:rolleyes:

Appreciate your input but you should have watched the first part of the game before commenting. If you had, you would have seen our starting defense totally shut down their offense (admittedly w/o LT or Gates) on the first series. When our starters on offense got the ball for the first time, they went straight down the field in 8 plays to score a TD. It was so easy we didn't even have any 3rd down plays.

Our downfall started when rookie undrafted FA WR Amendola (certainly not a superstar) fumbled a return leaving the Chargers in control around our 30 yard line. It took a little time but eventually the Chargers managed score a TD. We got the ball back but a few plays later Brad Johnson (he's not a superstar either) throw an INT--might have been do to missed communication between he and WR Crayton. Chargers scored a few plays later.

In other words, our 2nd team on offense, defense & ST stunk up the show. So don't get why you think we need instructions on how to handle superstars; we handled them so well that we went 13-3 last year, admittedly losing to the Giants in the playoffs partly because of poor ST play which was a consistent problem most of last year and again doesn't look so good in preseason.

I love this guy, I wonder if he's actually one of ours. My favorite line of his:

On the personal side, I spent most of the 1990's studying for the BAR exam in order to become of full-fledged lawyer, however I didn't agree with how the scope of law as a whole in its entirety was heading in that direction, so I decided to go with a steadfast job instead. Here I am in Waste Management...

It's a tie in my book, I so enjoy the OP posts and the people who take them way too seriously.

I am not sure either..its alot of fun though.

Probably the worst post I've ever read on this board - true we do need work, but you outlined all the wrong reasons.

I've just got done analyzating some game film from the Pewter Pirate-sized thrashing of the Miami Dolphins on Saturday. After reading through the rest of the results in the Tampa Tribune, I noticed the Dallas "Super Bowl XXXXIII Champions" Cowboys got destroyed by the San Diego Chargers.

Always the same. This was the first preseaon game. No gameplaning, missing starters. Coaches that don't give a *** about the result of the game.

The only plays where teams could be judged (i don#t say i will judge them by that) is when all starters are on the field.

so dallas had one really impressive offensive drive with all their starters against the starting defense of san diego. everything after that can't be judged anymore because sd was missing 6 of there offensive starters. anyways... dallas stopped this offense twice with ease.

so the only drive that is usefull for comparision is the first offensive drive by dallas. and as i mentioned dallas scored with ease on that one.

if i look at the game that way i think we are in good shape when it comes to talking about a possible sb championship.

Good morning,

It's tough not to watch HBO on Wednesday nights and not get inundated with all of this Cowboys hoopla and "the best team in the NFC Conference" diet tribe.

Don't get me wrong...I'm not here to bash, yet I'm not here to criticize your team either. The Bucs had their share of mistakes, but this little ol' NFC Southern Champion team had NO penalties...that's right...ZERO!

Here's a list of things I think might have happened and what your team should try to improvise on:

1) Get Brad Johnson more reps - As the case in 2002, Brad needs many snaps to get his head in the game and focus. You see how 2002 turned out.

2) Don't Give in to Terrell Owens (TO) - Gruden knows how to handle superstars like Joey Galloway and Ike Hilliard. You make them feel like part of the team and do not give into their "me first" ideology.

3) Take the Glazer Approach - Jerry needs to take a tip from Joel and Bryan...don't get involved with "high dollar" superstars. They showed last season that a team of above-average NFL League-caliber players and genious coaching is all you need to have success.

So, my friends, there's a couple things the front office could work on to improve the Cowboys.

You guys are on the right track though. Keep in mind, that this is only the first week of preseasonal games. Sure, the Bucs are one game ahead of you already, but there is time to make up some ground.

Thoughts?

analyzating? preseasonal? Hmm, well this is the "NFL League"

How's Brett Favre doing in Tampa? ;)

Great post Pittman. Some folks even believe your in depth analysis. :laugh2:

Come back soon with some updated power rankings.

I always laugh harder at the people who think this stuff is real.

No amount of reps will help that over the hill QB. I'll swap ya for Sims.

TO has been a great team player and mentor to or WR's. Not sure what the heck you are talking about. Not surprising.

3) Take the Glazer Approach - Jerry needs to take a tip from Joel and Bryan...don't get involved with "high dollar" superstars. They showed last season that a team of above-average NFL League-caliber players and genious coaching is all you need to have success.

Whatever. Jerry Jones and company run the best organization in all of sports.

So, my friends, there's a couple things the front office could work on to improve the Cowboys.

Wrong. If you are going to pick on things, at least get the issues correct.

You guys are on the right track though. Keep in mind, that this is only the first week of preseasonal games. Sure, the Bucs are one game ahead of you already, but there is time to make up some ground.

What in the wild world of sports are you talking about? Your team is not one game ahead of the Cowboys. Do you do drugs?

Thoughts?

You have either been in the sun to long drinking or just do not understand the NFL and the pre-season.

I always laugh hardest at people who are so anxious to make it known that they "get it" that they potentially ruin reactions from unsuspecting posters who read the entire thread before posting.
