You think this could be our next QB if he continues to decline?

IMHO, Chris Leak is another Rex Grossman waiting to happen.

I think we're ok for the time being at QB. Romo/Henson are progressing, not regressing.

Well.. you could be right..I, just feel our next future Qb. is not on this team now. IMO.

You could be right, too. But boy I hope you're wrong. This team is close. If Henson (or Romo) can provide the final piece by giving us impact play from the QB position, we could compete for years to come. If, on the other hand, we have to sink a draft pick into another guy, and start from square one in developing him, the rest of the pieces we've put in place might not be around long enough.

Well as long as we're dropping names David Carr could be had in the near future for a bus ticket, no need to gas up the jet, boy those Texans fans aren't crowing about their team like they were awhile back...

Correct-a-mundo....BarryRay, I have some friends who are big time Texan fans and they are not very happy these days. LOL..

Can't see how Grossman's injuries are a function of not getting it. When last he was healthy he was developing quite nicely, I would say.

I just don't see what we can't draft a QB and develop him, or develop what we have in house even more. I see Bledsoe (assuming he does well, hell even decently) hanging around for at least a couple more years.

What has Grossman proved in the NFL other than he cant stay healthy?

Wuerful?
Palmer?
Leak is in the same mold...

Not a good track record.

I believe our next QB will come from the draft........I am hoping for Marcus Vick.

I really hope you are kidding.

I don't have the foggiest idea what the heck some of you people think. Why in the hell would you want the younger, crappier brother of Michael Vick? Michael may have the media's vote as "the most exciting player" but as a quarterback, he is terrible. I will guarentee that MV never wins a Super Bowl. Maybe all you care about is having a quarterback who can sneak a few crazy runs. If that's all you want, then fine. But for me, I'll take a quarterback who can... call me crazy...actually stand in a pocket and play quarterback.

Then later in the thread someone mentions Vince Young. Are you people insane? Vince Young will be a WR in the NFL. He will not play QB in the NFL.

This same kind of moronic thinking is why we reached on Quincy Carter. And look where that got us. Only fools would be so eager to snag a running quarterback considering not a single one of them has ever won the big game. Give me a pocket quarterback every day of the week. Maybe the pocket qb won't make 2-3 plays a game running, but he will actually have a chance at leading his team to Super Bowl glory.

Chad had ONE very poor game.

Because of his shoulder surgery, he saw very little preseason time in a new offense, and featuring quite a bit of shotgun snapping which he is not yet comfy with. (hence the fumbles, one caused by the center)

There is no Warner shell shocked issue involved; just a case of a new offense and a QB who was recovering this spring and summer while ideally he would have been getting mega reps in it.

He also lost a very good right tackle to free agency and his protection on Sunday was sub par.

Way, way too early to assume much from that performance, I think.

pennington has a huge contract and hence will never play here unless Herm was fired and a whole new regime came in who threw him away to make a point.

he'd fit tuna's offense very nicely (more so than the new Jets offense) though.

something to watch in 2-3 years however as his attitude toward the press has gone south and he cracked in front of the media a few times last year... looked real foolish and since then the media has turned on him.

I have always thought that Pennington was a bum.

He has flashes. But he just cant put it all together for a complete season. Nor play a full season for that matter.

yet if he was on the skins you'd have him in the HOF ;)

they guy was handicapped by inept coaches and had a serious injury. he'd thrive with real coaches in a system that fits his strength.

Pennington reminds me a little of Mcmahon- he had that one golden year with the Bears but could never stay healthy. Pennington is another who cannot stay healthy.
Bledsoe has taken a whole lot more punishment over the years and has held up a whole lot better.
As regards the college QB's, that Omar Jacobs is interesting. Leinart- I have heard some things that make me think he is the next Ryan Leaf.

I agree, but Pennington also had some questions last year about the arm, and had at least one preseason game where he lit it up with interceptions. Just throwing this out there for wild speculation..... I seriously doubt Pennington is let go for at least 2 seasons if he does continue to go downhill.
