You think this could be our next QB if he continues to decline?

Yes, I know this is way too early to speculate on, but it is odd how he has dropped so fast. I'm pretty sure he just signed a new contract which means he'll have to be "Kurt Warner bad" before they release him, but after watching the preseason and week one highlights, man does he look lost. He doesn't look anywhere close to the Chad Pennington people were once raving about and I've already read one or two articles about bench speculation. He really is going the way of Kurt Warner, at least early this year. He may be untouchable if whatever injuries are causing the arm problems prove to be too much, but you know how Parcells loves his former project players.

I remember when I used to bring up Drew Bledsoe predictions with Cowboys fans three years ago and everyone thought I was crazy but look who's starting in Big D now. : I just hope Bledsoe either remains consistent the rest of the year and a few more years, or Dallas finally finds a rookie who shows some nice potential.

Pennington is the bus driver for the bus drivers. He also can't stay healthy; why would we want this guy? The same reasons he slipped to the 18th pick are why he hasn't become an elite QB. The guy is a very limited decision maker; frankly (and I can;t believe I'm saying this) I was far more impressed with Drew Brees.

If young is smart he will stay the extra year at Texas, he still has a lot of work to do to become a better passer than he currently is. Like Vick, Young is very athletic but being an NFL QB is not just about being athletic. For all the hoopla Vick gets his passing is still below par

It's pretty early, but I want a QB from the draft who can pass... Yes, Vince Young looks very good with his runs, but he's scary in that he really reminds me of Randall Cunningham - very 1-dimensional. I kind of like the guy down at Florida, where they pass 75% of the time - Chris Leak. I haven't seen him play though, and definetly want to see him against a real good opponent. But I like him and of course Chris Leinart, who will probably go #1... Long college season ahead - lots can happen!

Maybe it's me and I don't want to be rude, but why would we want to continue to pick through other people's trash. I've never been impressed with Pennington and I think he's a decent, if not spectacular QB. I mean, if Pennington is on the decline in a few years, let the Commanders sign him. They're good for signing overrated players in decline.


However, the next QB running the Cowboys needs to come from within, IMO. Henson, Romo, or a draft pick.

Dont know abut Vick a lot, Dont like his brother Mike (aka Ron Mexico). I am less sure about Young from texas, his throwing motion is way wrong. Brady Quinn maybe, several other that are possible, including baby vick. But I am hoping like hell we draft a legit prospect that can grow into the starter spot in a year or two. No more baseball play projects/rejects.

No way would I want to see Pennington in a Cowboys uniform. He's been a relatively accurate passer who has a weak arm for a QB by today's standards and he's not mentally tough. I would much rather see us groom one the back ups or draft someone for when Bledsoe leaves.
