Wow, I can still hear Pat Summerall's voice when I read some these names: Vince Albritton, Dexter Clinckscale, Gary Hoogeboom. BTW, anyone know what Hoogeboom means in the language of origin?

Randy Hughes was actually a Cowboys tragedy. (of sorts) Because he would have definitely walked in the tradition of Harris and Waters but he got hurt and never was able to overcome the injury thing. Randy Hughes was a VERY good player as the 1977 season, and especially the Super Bowl, demonstrated.

We had a LB that looked very promising also #57 Jesse Penn but he got a neck injury and was done cefor he could really get started.

Yes, Penn looked like a player for sure

1. Julius Jones2. Jaq Reeves3. Antonio Bryant-- my first ever football game, the Cowboys were down 37-0 in the 4th against the G-strings, Antonio Bryant caught a TD with under 2 minutes left to play. I screamed and ran down to the wall, jumping up and down. I was legitimately happy. Subdued, because they were going to lose anyway, Bryant waved to me. I was hooked.

I liked Noonan too, Hos. I really thought he was going to be a good one. He just never worked out.
I from Washington D.C. and I remember a game at RFK and there was a bench clearing braw. Every Defensive player on defense for Dallas went out on the feild except Danny Noonan. When Randy White returned he was about woop some Noonan ARSE. Man was he pissed that Noonan didnt support the team. NOONAN WAS A CHUMP. Good potential but a chump.

My list:
Noonan
Mike Sherrad
Robert Jones.

I sort of remember that, the brawl but not really the story.

I thought steroids made you more aggressive, not less.

I guess this was well after he left Nebraska and had quit juicing for a while.

In Mel Kiper's book that year, Noonan was listed at 285 and was called "ferocious."

A couple of years later, he was about 260 and was as docile as a kitten.

Some Dallas columnist called him "The Incredible Shrinking Man." :laugh2:

1) Mike Sherrard - high high hopes for him. He had a decent rookie year thats why I was so high on him, but then broke his leg twice. I was following his rehab after his first injury and then he broke his leg again and I gave up on him. I guess it's a good thing he didn't pan out b/c we wouldn't have drafted Irvin a couple years later.

2) Danny Noonan - I was all over this guy the day we drafted him. I watched Channel 5, 4, and 8 in that order to watch his highlights (years before the internet was create for the public). Channel 5 had sports on before the weather back in the day. I remember Dale Hansen had a thing about him referring him to the caddyshack "Danny Noonan" character. What a bust he was. I remember his first mini camp, he got in a fight with an unknown free agent the media named "The Kitchen". He took off Nate's helmet and bashed Nate in the head with it. I was actually mad at Nate b/c he was messing with our high #1 draft pick. It's funny how their careers turned out.

3) Joey Galloway - actually didn't do that bad with the Cowboys, but the hype was so high on him compared to his achievements.
