Your Dallas Cowboys after Jerry moves on.

I hope Parsons refuses the highest contract ever offered to praise his agent instead of his boss. If I were Jerry and this boiled down to signing or not, I'd trade him yesterday on morales and ethics. See if he holds out during the season and not on Jerry's final terms...
I'm not sure I'm reading this right it looks like you're talking to yourself looks like you reply to yourself and I'm reading that and it looks like you're writing both sides of the fence I don't know what side you're taking you either think Parsons is really stupid for not taking the contract and you hope he doesn't sign it so he might get traded if not he holds out and what both sides lose? This is not gonna happen have you not learned anything everyone kept saying this was gonna happen with lamb it didn't happen everyone said it was going to happen with that it didn't happen it's never happened show me a scenario when a homegrown drafted superstar you know a guy who deserved a big contract didn't get paid here they all got paid here.

I know all about market money and all this other nonsense and I get it but Parsons doesn't deserve anything but a top five deal that's why Trayvon diggs got signed right away his agent and himself knew their words and they got paid #4 overall money at the time he's still in the top six like three years later and it's Jerry getting his money's worth no he's not Trayvon diggs has been hurt two years in a row taking that money and not giving any back for sitting at home I mean he's not helping the team in the rehab room..

I know you can't control those things but this would be a lot easier just like OSA jalen Smith Tyron Smith there are too many that I can come up with that I just don't have the time for today they have signed deals and they went quietly easily and smoothly because the agent and player were not holding the ownership hostage and why wouldn't Jerry not have a problem with agents when guys like dax agent has taken him to the cleaners and yes he had a choice he could have just allowed Prescott to become a free agent or didn't pay him the first time and didn't accept the contract so both sides are wrong here.

These deals would get done sooner if guys like Parsons realize he's a top five pass rusher in the league but he's never been defensive player of the year he's never led the league in sacks he has not had a moment in a big game especially the playoffs to where he's shown to be the best so you wanna be paid like the best but you're not that impact player yet yes you are an impact player but you're not $42 million worth of impact you don't deserve to be the highest paid skill player in the league because you're not better than those guys..

So ,if you set your frigging ego aside and figured out maybe top three money what is that came to the table and took #2 money, whatever that is if you took 39.8 million it would have been done a month ago this started about February 18th and it could've been done already but in my opinion Parsons lied or his agent told him he shouldn't have said that he would take more team friendly deal and didn't need to be the highest paid ....

Now they're probably asking for 41 or $42 million and now Jerry's irritated he has a right to be irritated because so many players that he paid and I get it he didn't have to pay them but recent history says Ezekiel Elliott didn't live up to his deal Jalen Smith got cut not even a year later after being paid, even Zach Martin did it I remember we talked about Zach Martin everyone said pay to Manny deserves it when he wanted to have his contract extended and make it all guaranteed and then what happened he went on to have a down year and then he retires and took Jerry's money now he's hurting the cat because of it he didn't earn that money I know you're gonna say he did over his entire career but when he comes to the table and says I wanna be paid I expect some actual production high level production for it and Jerry didn't get it get it he was part of the problem last year he wasn't blocking well he was getting ran over he was getting penalties but Jerry paid him anyway everyone said Jerry stupid for at first saying he didn't feel he should have to pay him and he took his time and then caved...

so, a lot of these guys are taking Jerry's money and not earning it afterwards...

so, Jerry has a right to take his time and try to get the best deal possible for the team he has that very right!!

people who don't think he does and think what he's saying and doing is wrong haven't sat in a chair of a billionaire who runs a sports franchise and has been ran over by agents before...

he will sit down with the agent when the time comes but he don't want to be irritated why they're just having to have general discussions with his player he is that right his player is his employee his players under contract for $21 million this year to play there is no hurry there is no urgency and he has a right to try to get the best deal possible..

And we all know in the end he's probably gonna cave and pay him what he wants but Jerry at least need to make an effort to get the best deal possible that seems to be a lot of common sense there to do everything you can to get the best deal and if you can't you end up OK well here we are let's just sign it and let's move on..

I read on this site in the past that someone thought that Charlotte Jones would have a significant role with the team after Jerry.
The thinking was, was that she is fairly level headed and would be a voice of reason.
Anyone have any thoughts on this?
( Sound like Coog) lol

So, as Jerry gets older, speculation abounds: how will the Franchise look after he moves on ?

The consensus is that Stephen will take control.

How will that play out you may ask ?

That's the purpose of the thread.

Below are are my random predictions/observations:

As poorly as Jerry has GM'ed this team, he still has a lot of charm and guile.

The P.T. Barnum in him has got him through some rough patches.

The just keeping the team relevant and hanging around the rim has kept the Star full of the casual fans.

Jerry also enjoyed the afterglow of the 3 SB victories he presided over.

He also lucked into 2 good serviceable QBs for next to nothing in cost in Romo and Dak.

These 2 QBs fit perfectly into the keeping the team relevant philosophy.

Stephen is not going to have any of the above benefits.

He has no charm, gets defensive when asked tough questions, and has actually insulted the fans with

his "air quotes" playoff drought response, and more recently his ridiculous response when asked about dragging out the

contract negotiations with star players.

Once Dak ages out, and we get really bad QB play like in the Campo years, this team will no longer be relevant.

The heat is gonna get really high, and frankly I don't think Stephen will be able to handle it.

I see him either hiring a real GM or selling the team.

I am really curious as to what you other folks think is going to happen?
Well jeez, according to everyone here QBs capable of playing at a high level just grow on trees and we can draft a one read, 5th round talents like Shedur Sanders in the first and win a Super Bowl his rookie season!

The guys on 105.3 were discussing this one day, and they claimed that they'd been told by someone inside that Jerry Jr and Charlotte would run things when Jerry steps down and they had no interest in running the football side. It's basically our only hope.

I have nothing to go on but would hope Charlotte would be calling most of the shots if that ends up being the actual outcome.

Opening paragraph of 5 you's and didn't discuss a single topic. Stereotype.

Money market...wow, what a topic cross applied. Happy? Nothing said there. Reciprocity....?

This was my quoted post:

It took to here, before you bothered to touch upon topic offered for discussion:

'These deals would get done sooner if guys like Parsons realize he's a top five pass rusher in the league but he's never been defensive player of the year he's never led the league in sacks he has not had a moment in a big game especially the playoffs to where he's shown to be the best so you wanna be paid like the best but you're not that impact player yet yes you are an impact player but you're not $42 million worth of impact you don't deserve to be the highest paid skill player in the league because you're not better than those guys..'

Principals by a boss that offers a high mark contract is not secondary to a pompous athlete that is trying for a Jimmy Johnson attempted role. This is unprincipled and a show of a lack of ethics.

The approach taken in the post of yours, empowers a false sense of entitlements of a player now. This isn't the NBA and Jerry is doing his job as he should. My post. Good job Jerry.

Stephen is only 61 but looks 200, so we're jumping the gun a bit to think he will outlast Jerry in the first place.

Well jeez, according to everyone here QBs capable of playing at a high level just grow on trees and we can draft a one read, 5th round talents like Shedur Sanders in the first and win a Super Bowl his rookie season!
Can't believe everything you read here.
Good to great QBs are very difficult to find.
I don't trust this front office at all to find one.

Man, what a morbid thread. Keep it classy, I guess.
I have, on purpose said when Jerry moves on, instead of passing on.
I hope he retires, lives to be 100 and has great retirement years.
I have nothing against Jerry personally.
I just think he's a terrible GM and that he has keep this team in the dark ages for 29 years.
I long for a well run team that has a legit shot at a SB.

Havent most of your points already happend in the last 15 years ?

This team hasent been relevant for quite some time. Just because we had some winning seasons doesnt mean we are relevant. Dont missinterpret that.

The heat is already high for about 20 years. They werent able to handle it. Just look at our playoff success.

We werent able to sign top players for decades now. Nobody with any kind of sporty ambitions is willing to play for us.all we are able to get is the dump of FA. Dont fail for those PR lies like we didnt want to sign a specific player (Henry and so on). Players have no interesst to play for a bad franchise.

Did i miss something?

Nothing will change under SJ. Jerry has no clue how to manage a successful sport business. SJ has worked by his side now for what? 15 years. Has thwre been more success?

The Joneses are a PR machine. That will stay. Nothing else will change.

That doesn't have to mean their standard operating procedure changes. It could just mean they don't want to handle it anymore. In order for something to change, one or both of the people you mentioned would have to totally disagree with how it's being run now. If they believe in this system, it's not going to matter who runs it, nothing will change.

Jerry was always a gambler. He was always trying to get the best players available. That changed around 2014 to what we have now. My guess is that his son had something to do with this. I say that because the Cowboys went from high risk to low or no risk overnight.

Even if Stephen hires a GM, that changes nothing. He's not going to allow a GM to do what he wouldn't do.

Seemed like there was quite the power swing around the time of the Manziel vs Martin draft pick.

Stephen is just like Jerry.

I can’t see them giving up the GM power.

They love it too much.
