One of the greatest party songs of all time, I'm not so sure what it's saying but it still sounds good!

Great controversy at the time and my band was asked to leave a country club dance after I sang what I wanted to be and thought the words should be. I sang it a little too clearly for the chaperones. But we won in the end. One of the rich girls had us set up in her parents backyard and we continued the gig. They lived on 3 acres and had this huge backyard and her Mom was a party girl that loved to dance and that was the first of 3 engagements we played in their backyard.

I was a great singer, had the moves, the gyrations and the look except I lacked talent for singing and couldn't carry a tune. I made people cry when I did "House of the Rising Sun" because I hit maybe 25% of the notes. It was crazy, I could hear it in my head but when it came out it was "hey kids, guess what he's singing now"? Hey for a singer, he's not a bad dancer.
