With it being the slow offseason, I thought it would be neat to get everyones story of their first Cowboys game. This can be either on TV or in person.

I will go first. Had not been much into football, but had heard that Tom Landry was a solid Christian and read a comic book about him.

Flipped on the TV back in 1975 , it was the last couple of minutes on the road agaist the Vikings... Cowboys were down 4 points and deep in there own territory. Roger hits a medium range pass to give then some breathing room. Next play Roger hits Drew with the famous Hail Mary !!!!!!

Needless to say I was hooked and have been for 33 great years!

What a First Game !!! John

1983 vs the Giants. I remember it because I got deathly ill and went into a comma about 4 days later, came out of it 10 days after that... looked up from my hospital bed and the Cowboys were whipping up on the Vikings on TV.

My dad got a couple of tickets from his job in the nose bleed section, Dallas vs the baltimore colts in baltimore. Dallas crushed them and the stadium emptied out. So I went right behind the cowboy bench. I remember Harvey martin, Too Tall Jones, John Dutton, and Randy White all standing togeater side by side. I was amazed at how big thise guys were. It was a great first live game. Prossman

October 30, 1960 at the Cotton Bowl, against the defending NFL champion Baltimore Colts. We lost 45-7. About the only thing I remember is a long TD pass from Johnny Unitas to Raymond Berry. I think it was their first offense play.

The first Cowboys game I ever attended live was Cowboys @ Giants in November 2001.

Dallas was up 24-3 at the half and lost 27-24 in OT. Clint Stoerner was the QB had had won the previous week vs. the Cardinals. I was hoping he'd be the one to replace Troy.

Ryan Leaf threw a Hail Mary at the end of regulation because his arm was stronger the Clint's. Incomplete pass. Then OT and then the loss.

I think it was 1963, Tom Landry and Dandy Don, in the Cotton Bowl. Sat 1/2 way up on the 50 yard line and got a sunburn.

Back in the summer of 1961 I was new in Dallas and worked at Republic National Life Ins. Co. as a claims examiner and they gave some free tickets to the Salesmanship game to the employees who wanted them. Back then they took the proceeds of a given exhibition game and gave them to the Salesmanship Club to sponsor free summer camp for poor kids.

It was the world champion Green Bay Packers with Bart Starr, Paul Horning and all their great players - I don't remember the score but they crushed Dallas and I was distressed and impressed. There weren't many people in attendance so we got 50 yard line seats down in front.

The Cowboys were new and the doormat of the league and I wondered what it would be like to be a fan of such a team that won championships. I would like to find out all over again.

1972, Thanksgiving Day. Dallas 10 San Francisco 31. I was 10 years old,
my Dad took me to my first Cowboy game. Live at Texas Stadium. I have
not missed a single game since then. Dallas went on to go 10-4 that year, and beat the 9'ers in the playoffs, only to get bounced by the Commanders. To this day, those are my two most hated teams. The 49'ers and the Commanders, in that order.

There are two things in my life you don't mess with. My Cowboys, and my dog. Just ask my ex wives.

'Boys @ Bills 2007.... 'nuff said. Me and my girlfriend decided to take a 7 hour drive to see if we could score a couple of tickets. Walking to the stadium we came across a guys whos' wife and kid "Didn't wanna watch the Bills get creamed" as he put it. I bought the tickets and couldn't believe how great the seats were, bottom row in the end zone. OK normally not the greatest seats in the world, but tonight they were awesome. When Witten caught his touchdown, he ran through the endzone and gave me five.....

That was cool enough, but listening to all the Bills fans give me grief all night about how we were losing, and then the unthinkable happened.... you could have almost heard a pin drop down there when Folk kicked the game winner the first time. Then the razzing started all over again when there was the timeout... Thank God he made it the second time too, I couldn't bear the thought of walking up those stairs listening to the heckling..... :laugh2:

Then the topper of the night was the fact that Emmitt was there with Steve young in our endzone after the game doing their broadcast....   Awesome time.. I wish I knew how to post some of my pics from the game, they came out great.....

Been watching them on TV as long as I've been alive.

First time I caught them live was at Sun Devil Stadium against the newly minted Phoenix (yes Phoenix) Cardinals.

First game in Texas Stadium was the 01 opener against Tampa Bay when Emmitt tried to outjuke and outrun Bryan Kelly to the corner of the end zone instead of just bowling his *** over.

The first Cowboys came I ever attended was in 1981 at the Pontiac Silverdome. The Lions had 12 men on the field while attempting a last second field goal, but the refs didn't call it. I was crushed. And to this day, the Cowboys tend to play like crap against Detroit. We've beaten them 4 of the last 5 times we played them, but we still didn't play our best in those games. Needless to say, I hate the Lions. Their fans are so obnoxious. It's like they don't know their team sucks. But they do suck. And I am glad.

1998 season opener vs the Cardinals

It was hot as hell but luckily they allowed back packs so my future wife packed 4 huge ice cold bottles of water in it. I had my own portable air conditioner. :laugh2:

And we won :yourock:

Not to come across as totally ignorant, but how does a portable air conditioner work?

First game I ever attended was the last preseason game of 1975. We beat the defending world champion Steelers on a Staubach-to-Drew Pearson TD with about 18 seconds left. Drew made a one-handed catch in the back of the end zone.

You don't forget a game like that. It was better than most regular season games, as there were a lot of Hall of Famers on the field that night, and both teams were obviously trying to win.

That was a storybook season, and is still my favorite.

I attended my first game on Saturday, December 18, 1971. Duane Thomas had a big game against the St. Louis Cardinals.
