Loved: Tony, Witten from this generation. Michael and Woodson from the most recent Super Bowl era. Rodger from the one before that.

Hated: Deion Sanders and Pacman Jones. I don't get mad at players for sucking, but the personal failings with those two are pretty tough to overlook.
Ouch....

Not surprised by seeing TO on alot of lists, he was polarizing, either you love him or hate him.

But Deion I don't see why, he played defense, offense, and returned punts for us. Sure, hate his personality, but he did more things for this team than most people in the modern era. Who has played defense, offense, and special teams in the last 20 years for this team??

I don't get hating Deion for what he did for this team, one of the greatest athletes of all time and even had time to play baseball. As good as we want to think we are right now, we don't have a single player on our team that could do everything Deion did for us.

This is a generational thing for me, and not because of his personality. It's that he came among early enough in free agency that I still wasn't accustomed to the pay-for-play nomad NFL. That wasn't Deion's fault, of course, but I could never envision him as a Cowboy in the way I envisioned others. That's my problem, not his. And I certainly didn't/don't hate him. I just never thought of him as a favorite.

I understand hate is a strong word of course, but Deion did things on the field that guys now couldn't dream of doing. Every CB still looks at him with those dreamy eyes, he was that good.

Maybe he's not a favorite, but he shouldn't be hated cause he laid everything out on that field. He was out there both ways in the NFL, we got players who can't even get through a whole drive now. Make them play D, then return the punt, then play offense.........they might sue us.

He went down at the end, but as much as he put his body through.....that will happen. He helped us in a big way win a ring, cause that team didn't have the coaching or talent of the other two that won in the 90s.

"They can get me once, they can get me twice.......but the third time....I'm goin to be dancin" thats a lil Primetime......only wish one of our DBs right now could say that and actually back it up..

Five most loved Cowboys:

Murchison, money graced owner, that brought the Dallas Cowboys into existence...and succeeded through having faith and cutting edge insights.

Tom Landry, who put heart and a discipline onto the carpet and succeeded through staying with the task and creating a polished team. History and heritage were created and given life here.

Jerry Jones, who took the franchise in thorough crises and forged both direction and a successful team through dynamic problem after problem.

Jimmy Johnson, before becoming 'Benedict Arnold,' did forge a dynasty with both offensive and defensive sophistication and competitive spirit.

A whole page full of NFL leaders and Hall of Famers, who gave life to dynamics, pride, and skill full play on the field...Roger, Bob, Munster, Larry, Eric, Michael,Tony, Emmitt, heck...Billie Joe and Don/both.

Five least liked...the mercenary departures that left a Championship level team for the benefit of their bankers.

Honor:
1. Bob Lilly

5. Charles Haley

Tragic:
1. 2000 Draft class
2. 2009 Draft class
3. Lance Rentzel
4. The Hambrick brothers

I do like yours, guess I would put Randle and Julius Jones on Tragic. My list is too long for Honor.

I mean, who steals underwear getting paid all that money?

Yes we all have our favorite Cowboys but also what Cowboys have you wished never dawned the silver helmet and blue star. No owners and coaches, just players.

Hate for Dat Nguyen? I am feeling you had to reach deep there.

For me, I really can't bring myself to "hate" any player that is wearing the star. But there are a few I dislike. :)

Love

1. Michael Irvin: Probably my all-time favorite Cowboy. Look, I even spelled his last name right.
2. Roger Staubach: He's the reason I am a Cowboys fan
3. Charles Haley: God could we use him right now.
4. Troy Aikman: Like him even more as a media personality.
5. Jay Novecek: Yeah, Witten is a better tight end, but Novecek is an all-time favorite

Dak and Romo are honorable mentions, Dak not having enough years to qualify :)

Hate (I can only give you 3)

1. Patrick Crayton: I will never forgive him for the drop that caused us to lose the divisional playoff game against the Giants. Never.
2. Deon Sanders: I rooted for him as a Cowboy but he's probably the only guy who wore the star who I couldn't stand.
3. Alvin Harper: Hated the way he left, and have to admit I felt some pleasure in his lack of success after he was gone

I really wish you let us pick coaches, because my hate list would be 1. Dave Campo, 2. Dave Campo, 3. Dave Campo, etc. :)

My love list is bit of a motley crew but more about players that had a lot to do with me loving the Cowboys at the time.....

Love(d):
Witten x1000
Romo
Herschel
Pelluer
Dak

Hate(d)
R. Williams - receiver
Romo (yeah, love/hate with him)
Randle
Henson
our D backfield the past few years (except Byron/Brown)

R. Williams makes the top of your hate list? But he had one of my top-10 favorite moments in Cowboys history.

Andy Reid comes into Cowboys stadium cocky against Bill Parcells and decides he's going to start the game with ANOTHER onside kick to show us who is boss in the NFC East. Except it takes a weird bounce and lands right in Williams' hands, who runs it back for a touchdown.

I swear I must have watched that play 100 times.

I hated this play, among several others - strip fumble turnover against the Saints when the game was all but won.

On Thanksgiving nonetheless

The very top Cowboy will always be Randy White. After him you could put about 20 guys in no specific order and be correct.

The only Cowboy I really did not like and found it hard to root for was El dorado. After him theres a wide chasm of space before you get to another guy I did not like. Pac Man would be a distance second. I could take him or leave him, but El Dorado chapped my buttocks in a big way.

I only really hated guys who came to the Boys who I hated before like Randall Cunningham, Harold Charmichael or Timmy Smith. Even guys like Deoin Sanders and Terrell Owens. Hate is a strong word but it was weird to simultaneously root for them and appreciate what they were doing while still remembering how much I disliked them before they were Boys.
