I'm not talking about giving him 6 sec every time but what is worse is sending a blitz that is stopped dead in it's tracks and allowing the 1 big play that Eli has the ability to hit. One thing with Eli he gets impatient in trying to drive the length of the field and will make mistakes. Another thing is Dallas must stop the run game, if Dallas lets NY or any team stay in favorable down and distance then this defense is in for a world of hurt.

Can't argue with that either.

I really think we should use more blitz packages involving the LBers or secondary to put pressure on the QB.

I also think our best defensive weapon will be clock management on O,much like 2014.

lay the wood on Beckham, he has alligator arms if he thinks he's gonna get drilled.

Maybe this is why Wilcox is still on the team. Just for the Gints game so he can lay the wood on Beckham again.

I look at who we will pick in the top 10 in the 2017 draft at DE.
If we're pickin that high probably means Romo gets hurt again after he returns or Dak stinks it up. Maybe both.

In either case we'd probably be drafting QB in 1st rd.

I am leaning toward the bend don't break with one exception. I put a CB dead on Beckham and get in his face and he's never not doubled. I would frustrate the hell out of him and no matter where he lines up, he gets hit at the line hard and there's another over the top. I would have my other DBs focus on one simple rule, keep everything in front of them and no bonus yards and tackle, tackle, tackle. Force Manning into a dink and dunk, he gets really frustrated with that.

I like the blitz, I just don't like us doing it because we're not very effective at it. We don't have speed guys that can get there fast enough. They changed Manning's delivery time to be a pressure beater and I would prefer to have all the tacklers around the ball carrier.

The other reason I don't like it is because it's a double barreled shotgun with one pointed at them and one back at us and big plays come off blitzes...both ways. I don't want Dak in a pressure situation where he feels he has to make something happen because that's when bad things happen to young QB's. We need him to manage the game and utilize all of his weapons. He's not ready for a shootout with Manning and his receivers.

And high, we'd be trading up like the Eagles and Rams did if Dak was a 1st season bust, but I would be very surprised if that happens. He'll make mistakes and struggle but the rest of the team needs to strive not to put him into too deep a hole. And that starts with a D keeping it close.

You're the DC DC (and a push me pull you but more on that later) and you're missing your two starting DE's and MLB and your defense hasn't looked really good all preseason. Your best LB has another knee issue.

You've got a rookie QB starting his first game and he will need the assistance of a defense not putting additional pressure on him. But he has looked much better than anticipated.

You're facing an offense that has a good QB and receivers but their OL is suspect and they've not shown the ability to sustain a run game and the strength of their team is defense and quick strikes.

You're Marinelli, what's your game plan? Do you play it safe betting that they can't sustain long drives and play bend don't break? Do you increase the blitzes because of the OL and take your chances with your secondary?

I will wait until someone posts a good one, steal it and call it my own.

Blitz.

I would at least work some of these DE FAs out before letting them sign with another team!

I'd like to get 1 hit on Eli early, than at minimum pressure consistently.........even if its not a sack, want to put him on the ground, get his feet shuffling and have him looking for pressure.

That sounds "too optimistic" but I appreciate your enthusiasm coach.

I like everyone am excited to see how Dak develops but I'm more concerned if our defense will still fail us because I was thinking it was going to fail Romo.

I keep imagining a situation where Eli has ample time to light up our secondary and their DL swarms Dak. They might be able to run it down our throats as well. I'm looking forward to see their 200 million dollar upgrade on defense.

What we haven't seen yet from Dak is coming from behind in 2nd half or 4 th qtr.

Right now, we haven't played a real game. So I can Pollyanna out until we do. Until I am certain there's not a pony beneath that horse poop, I'm gonna keep digging.

Look, we were 4-12 last season and we all know the only reason was that Tony Romo was injured so, wha??? Never mind. The end is near, I am going to start 2017 draft threads on 9/12 and beat the crowd. Usually, I am watching the college ball strictly for entertainment but now I must be scouting. Unpaid scouting, I asked...... they said no....again.

I'd like to hit him enough to knock him out of the game. Then I'd like to make sure his seat back doesn't recline on the flight home.

Starters have been fine even with all the injuries. Rams and Seachickens scored all their points in the second half; Miami barely scored at all.

The Giants OL is terrible. I would stunt and twist them mercilessly. No need to send extra guys often.
