I was just saying that the contracts are never “written in stone”. Teams come to players all the time to “adjust” their contracts.
At which time they simply push more down the road. The player is not taking less on "adjustments".

Sometimes they take a pay cut. However, that usually happens when they realize the pay cut will still net them more than the open market.

You need to stop and realize Zack Martin isn't as nimble or as unstoppable as you make him out to be, especially at the very soon age of 33 and 10 years of wear-n-tear.

He already is getting paid handsomely ($14 mil/year) with 2 years left. If he takes any extra $1-$2 mil more per year on a 2-3 extension? Great. But if he demands to be paid top overall pay ($20 mil/year) on another multi-year extension, sorry, that's way too much, especially with 6+ other younger key starters' contract extensions already due.

Wisen up.

My gosh. You’ve sent the same video 4 times. Get some new material.

Find me more videos of the same. Instead of just one video to try and prove a second year player would be a better option than a future HOF RG.
A better option? I never said better. I said someone with superior talent who is way much younger and clearly dirt cheap for now.

Superior talent insinuates he is more talented than a future HOF player. Put that aside. You said last season was Martin’s worst correct?

Since you love video so much. Go watch the tape from the first eagles game. Tyler smith had his worst game ever that week. His worst game ever, is not even close to Martin’s worst game ever. Look at the penalty numbers. And before you say he doesn’t get called because of his name. Compare the rookie penalty numbers. Here’s a hint. Martin has never come within 3 sacks allowed of leading the league. You need to stop talking about this superior talent nonsense. He’s younger. That’s about it. And that’s not saying anything bad about Tyler. At all. It’s just the fact of the matter.

I totally get your point and as a fan you want the team to be able to effectively manage the salary cap. The problem is the players don't look at it that way. They look at it as them sacrificing their future health and want every single penny they can get in a short career window. It's going to be hard for the Cowboys with a lot of elite individual talent. Dallas has 3 impending 9 figure deals coming up while just handing one out to a CB (Cee Dee, Micah, Dak).
Oh, I see both sides that want to protect their interests

sports can be a cruel profession but the good side of it is salaries that only 1% of Americans can only dream about and only 1% can do

because of this unGodly salary, it has to be “ what have you done for us lately”…..Zeke is a good example of this.

Martin is still playing at a high level and I desperately want to see him in game 1 , but I just don’t see him as one that been underpaid…..but that’s up to the FO, not me

as I’ve said in another thread, I wish Rodgers would have given the money to Zack instead of back to the Jets, lol

The accumulated daily fines will likely be written into his re-new contract ...Cowboys will give him an extra million to compensate.

He's special and one of the very greatest Cowboy players to ever play here.

You keep saying the same thing. Just be quiet already.
In fairness, to refute those that claim he played at an exceptionally high level, you keep showing the same play over and over.

It proves he played poorly on a play, but it doesn’t support your claim that some apparently overrated how good he was last year.

Just shut it and go watch some film.

Week 1 (2022): Cowboys vs Buccaneers

First 2 plays to start, Zack Martin totally whiffs. He whiffed on at least 5+ plays and even on the play that caused Dak to throw an interception because Zack's man was right in Dak's face.

In every game in 2022, Zack Martin whiffed or got beat on some plays. All you've got to do is actually watch every game.

Zack Martin is the best guard in the NFL ....... everything else is just biased nonsense.
Yep and Jerry rewards his stars. Always has and probably always will. You don't want a locker room atmosphere where your stars don't feel like the owner is going to take care of you. It's burned Jerry before but it's still the right thing to do.

That is the purpose of signing bonuses and guarantee amounts. The owner would be out a lot of dough if that happened in the first year of the contract.
That's what I've heard is the main issue with ZM contract. The last two years aren't guaranteed.

HUGE difference.... the team is doing something that has been collectively bargained for and allowed in the CONTRACTS PLAYERS SIGN. The other is not allowed and results in huge fines now that teams can not forgive..... so no, its not even close to the same thing.

Have you ever seen a team , right before training camp say they are refusing to pay the player their salary????? Nope
It is close because the player is allowed to hold out contractually. They just have to pay 50,000 a day to do it. They get it all back when they sign the new deal anyway.

Yes, I've seen a team refuse to pay a player's salary 100's if not 1000's of times. It's called "cutting a player" who is under contract.

Lastly, I will never understand why people are so pro owner when it comes to the distribution of money generated. I remember "lock outs" in sports that delayed seasons and fans over and over screamed "The players are too greedy". A lock out is when the owners shut down work. It's literally like you going to work one day and your building has chain linked locks on the door with a message on the door saying "Go home. We are not open for business and you're not getting paid" and then people calling you greedy. We have some bizarre fascination with the Uber rich in our country and literally turn our backs on the people who do the actual work. Jerry isn't out there damaging his brain and health for money.

Show me film on smith whiffing. Or do you not have enough time?
