These were your words ...

Send the message to Zack Martin that he can be replaced with superior and much younger quality.
Yeah, I'm talking about Tyler Smith. He has superior skills and is way much younger. He could easily take over that Right Guard position if asked to.

Love ZM, he's an elite player, but you don't give big $ to an almost 33 year old player, outside of maybe a QB. Jones should waive the fines, give him a nice little bump so his ego is placated, and get him back to work.

Giving him an additional $10+ million to get his salary up with guys 8 years younger is nothing short of stupidity. It's throwing cap space in the garbage for no reason. Martin has no leverage, he already has a deal. If he wants to play hardball, give it right back to him.
8 years younger? $10m? What are you talking about?

Brandon Scherff and Joel Bitonio are both over 30 and making more than him. Another $10m would make him the highest paid OL in the entire league.

It's easy to make a case against giving a player a raise if you're going to completely make up numbers.

In what way is he superior to Zack Martin?

Whether T Smith can play RG or not, you're talking about effectively replacing Zack Martin with Matt Farniok in the lineup to...prove a point? That makes no sense.

Where did you guys go to school? Doesn't sound like y'all got taught correctly. Understand English???

Here. Straight from the Encyclopedia Britannica...

Superior quality

1. a : of high quality : high or higher in quality. superior products/results. a superior wine = a wine of superior quality.

Plus, I specifically said to move Tyler Smith to Right Guard because of his SUPERIOR QUALITIES while plugging in Matt Farniok at Left Guard WHERE HE STARTED FOR SEVERAL GAMES IN 2022!

Quit twisting my words to support your lies.

Good one. You left out the part where I said "in what way" because it's the part that matters.

Go ahead and make an actual football case that Tyler Smith is a better guard than Zack Martin lol

This isn't all that hard to figure out here. Guarantee his 2024 base. Add a couple of years. Throw a signing bonus. Contract runs through, say, 2026-27 and he'll still likey be effective. You don't have to throw a $100MM contract at him.

Plus with those dummy years give the Cowboys incentive to try to get an extension signed. I wonder if this might be a case of the Cowboys and Martin having a wink wink deal where he doesn't have to show for a week or so. Call it a veteran exception, LOL.
This is what I have been saying.

They will get it done. Martin will get a pay raise.

But he’s likely enjoying the Sun on the beach with the wife and kids for another week lol

His leverage is what they didn’t do to the OL this offseason.

They are also not in a good position for rotating OL and this love of the backups by posters is short sighted.

33 for Martin is like 28 for other OL and he is the most special player they have drafted in the last 25 years.

1947 was the last time any rookie OL was named All Pro, and he’s done that 6 times, and this man is the foundation of not only the OL and offense but of the team. No player on this team represents excellence like Martin.

Just let him walk or sit out, are you out of your mind? The OL is the potential season wrecker for this team.

Even after I just finished correcting and explaining correct English to you, you still keep acting ignorant. Go play games with your little groupies. I don't have time for someone who is not capable of learning and admitting when you're wrong.

What are you talking about?

What makes Tyler Smith a superior player compared to Zack Martin? You're saying that he's better, how? It should be very easy to explain it.

And you're the one who doesn't understand that you are replacing ZM in the lineup with Farniok, even though he's playing a different position. Assuming that TS is as good at guard as ZM, it's still a dumb move because he's better than Farniok, so you're downgrading LG and making your team worse anyways. Realistically, you are downgrading both guard spots and crippling your depth.

Seriously, dude??? I finished explaining it to you while posting what the Encyclopedia Britannica says (which is the standard explanatory book from England where the English language was created). SMDH

Is this a joke?

I'm asking you what makes T Smith superior? How do you come to that conclusion? What as a player makes T Smith superior?

And it's a dictionary, not an encyclopedia.

First, while Smith is younger, and a very good talent, I think it's very questionable to say he is superior to Zack Martin at this point. Zach is still elite in the NFL.

But that's far from the only issue because we can't turn a blind eye to the fact that replacing Martin would entail more than just moving Tyler Smith from left side to the right side. That's really just a cosmetic move because Tyler Smith could play either OG spot, and regardless of whether he were to play RG or LG with Martin gone, under your scenario it would still be Farniok who replaces Martin as the other starting OG.

Wow!!! Where did you go to school? How old are you? What kind of grades did you achieve?

Generally speaking, dictionaries provide linguistic information about words themselves, while encyclopedias focus more on the things for which those words stand. Thus, while dictionary entries are inextricably fixed to the word described, encyclopedia articles can be given a different entry name.

You said "superior quality" not "qualities", and either way, what's important is who who is the superior player.

And, again, you're still ignoring the fact that Tyler Smith is going to play on the O-:Line regardless of whether Martin is there or not, so under your scenario it's actually Farniok who would be replacing Martin as one of the OG's

You literally linked a dictionary lol.

But again, you are dodging the question. What actually makes Smith a superior player? You said he has "superior skills." What are they?

If Zack Martin doesn't report, "I" would put Tyler Smith at Right Guard while placing Matt Farniok at Left Guard. That's my take and I'm sticking to it due to my past experience.

I don't know why it matters which is at RG or LG, but that's fine if you think that's the better way to handle it if Martin isn't there. The best way to deal with Martin being away given the options available was never a point of disagreement.

The disagreement was the notion that it would show Martin he could be replaced by "superior quality", and I don't see how any scenario that plugs Farniok in as a starting OG to compensate for losing Martin would make Martin worry about that.
