Zach Allen is an anchor. You can build an entire line around him. He's the kind of player you name your kids after.
Larry Allen was a monster. You could just let him destroy the opposing line. He's the kind of player you tell your kids will eat them if they don't go to bed on time.

Give me both of them.

LA hands down.....those who say otherwise probably never saw him play. Dominating is not even enough to describe him.

I've seen every snap of Larry Allen's career as a Cowboy. Zack Martin laughs at him.

Martin would have to play into his 70s to give up 45 sacks.

Two entirely different type of players.

There is and ever will be, only one Larry Allen.

His skill set doesn't translate to comparisons. You can't put a price on a super strengthened mauler. That type of dominance may never be seen again. He destroyed the ego and will of his opposition. That is invaluable and can't be quantified with statistics.

Not to take away from Martin because he is an all time great as well. They just operate differently.

im not comparing stats

Larry is probably the best offensive lineman to ever play the game....

Zack Martin however is elite...and will go down as a top 5 guard in the history (hes that good)

but Larry Allen? people faked injuries to not play against him and Guard or Tackle the man played at an all pro level

One is pure brutality, the other an elite-level technician. Zach is a sure-fire HoFer.

It's insane how many top-level offensive linemen lived in the NFC East. You can put together a roster of NFC East linemen from the 90's to today and it might be as good as the rest of the NFL combined over that same period.

Are you not aware of the famous - some say infamous as well as irritating - sarcasm of the one and only Risen Star?
No, this time he is serious and seriously stupid in his claims

Zack Martin is phenomenal, and I believe is underrated, even by some of our fans here. Not hating, because players who do their job every snap aren’t really talked about.

He is a god of an OG, and we have been extremely lucky to have him the past decade. He is one of the best to ever play the game.

And hawked down a linebacker with ease.
Let's see Zack Martin do that! ;)

Zack is great, no doubt.
But Larry Allen is LEGENDARY!

Love both players and as many have said they have two completely difference skill sets. That said, give me Allen and his toughness/strength/mean streak.

That and the fact that Larry could bench press 2 and 1/3 Zach Martins in his prime while still running down linebackers

I've enjoyed the heck out of watching them both play they have different styles and are both very effective I don't feel the need to really compare them I just feel privileged to have watched them both in their prime.

I'll take Larry Allen in his prime over Zack Martin. But only at the Guard position. Allen struggled early playing LT and again when he played RT. He gave up some sack at tackle and struggled when he played with a leg injury on e year. But late in his career he lost lateral quickness and guys used to run around him I think that's the reason the Cowboys let him go. Zack Martin will probably go into the HoF someday. But if he continues to play into his 30s I think his stats will suffer too. Allen's strength and nastiness gives him the edge over Martin.

The easy answer to this is...
Who does the opposing DL tell stories about making them feel helpless.
Got to love Martin, but he is not as dominating as LA
