Zeke Elliott appreciation thread

He punishes opposing defenses. A big weapon for us. The idiots who don't appreciate him are the same idiots who have been telling us Cooper Rush should start over Dak.
Look...he is playing well. I have no complaints about him so far this year.

The issue is...he is paid like the best rb in the game and he isn't close to that.

That is where people get frustrated.

As the #1 Zeke hater on the forum, I enjoyed his performance tonight. He was actually elusive. If he played like that, I wouldn’t be a Zeke hater.

Underrated? He's the highest paid running back in the league, and he isn't the best running back on the team. He's average, at best.

You're touting his stats from over 4 years ago. That is an eternity in the NFL.

I am responding to the idiot stating that Zeke has been horrible since 2017.. by pointing out that Zeke continued to be among the league leaders two years AFTER 2017. And didn't stop being among the league leaders until we handed the keys to the offense to Wonder Boy. You're mad because you don't like his paycheck.. That's YOUR problem.. I have no issue with it.. My problem is with the idiot that is giving a back you're paying 16 million bucks a year the ball 12-13 times a game. It's fine if you wanna play this style.. but if you do .. then don't sign your running back to a 90 million dollar deal. Thank him for 3 amazing years and let him walk. I'm not banging on Zeke because the front office and coaching staff did something stupid.

I personally think it's time to bring up Ollison to help Zeke. We need a back with fresh legs and burst.

I don't think we're ever going to see that kind of rushing attack consistently with Kellen Moore calling plays.. It's just not who he is. He believes passing is the best way to win games.. And as he himself stated.. "yards are yards." So to him a 5 yard pass is just as good as a 5 yard run. The impact the 5 yard run has on the defensive front doesn't matter to him.. What it does to set up what you can do to a defense later in the game doesn't matter to him.. It boggles the mind that he has been handed so much responsibility while exhibiting such a flimsy grasp of so many of football's basic tenets. But then I remember who hired him..

It's week to week with Zeke isn't on this forum, lol? One week Pollard needs more carries than the next Zeke. Let's just all agree both players need significant touches and can help this team.

Zeke ran really tough today pushing through tackles and was one of the few offensive bright spots. Hope he continues that running style.

It would be one thing if the Eagles were stuffing the run but in the second half the o-line started winning the line of scrimmage and both backs were running super hard. I really hate that guy as our OC.. I legitimately don't believe we can ever get to the promised land with him calling plays because "yards are yards."
RonnieT24.....KMoore bothers me too. Everyone is on the MM failed challenge, but the 4th down call was just as egregious. Panic move and disrepect move. At some point, Zack Martin is gonna lay hands on KMoore instead of yelling at him.

I knew we were in trouble when we got to 3rd and 1 and passed ... Kellen Moore went all Kellen Moore again despite the runners averaging 5+ yards a pop. Oh and Zeke clearly still owns the Eagles..
Bluntly speaking KM has to go. His judgement on game flow is lousy. As a failed pro QB, he still wants to see passing first no matter what an when it comes down to crunch time he will always go for the pass.

we are stuck with MM because of Jethro; and probably KM for the same reason. Jethro will never quit trying to prove he is a real football man and that the success of the 90's was more him than Jimmy.

I’m just going by Daks last two starts.

he can’t throw a football 5 feet.

Dude was fantastic today. Always plays his heart out and literally brought us back in this game. He is so underrated by this fanbase it’s ridiculous
Yes he was. Zeke looked strong last night.

Zeke showed some burst for the first time all year. Let’s hope it continues.

I agree. He should've had more than 13 carries.

This, that tells you all you need to know about wonder boy. When the run game is clicking he will not stay with it and with your backup in that is the time to run that d— ball.

Zeke would be all pro with a better OC.

Zeke has been ripping off some great runs when we scheme and block.. but he is stuck with a pass happy OC that only uses him to run it up the middle in a half hearted attempt to look like a rush.

Since 2016.. our success depends on Zeke.. shame so many (including our idiotic coaching staff) can't see that. Zeke needs to be getting 20 carries a game and see where we end up.

His heart, drive, and determination were on full display last night. Two things that can’t be questioned are his effort and dedication.

I’m bummed out that he didn’t get the opportunity to pick up that 4th and short attempt.

I haven't seen him break off a 15 yard TD run in long time

That's because usually when we get within sniffing distance of the goalposts Moore shifts into 5 wide empty to showcase his "genius." He usually puts Zeke out at wide receiver in those situations.. Brilliant.. absolutely brilliant.. I'm not even sure why he didn't do it last night.. You know he wanted to .. but maybe Big Mike walked over to him and ordered him not to..

This still eats at me. We will have these inside zone runs where we completely ignore the backside end. And unless that end is a complete doofus he's standing in the backfield waiting for our backs to take the handoff 9 times out of 10. I really don't understand that play design.. and it's a staple of our offense.. It accounts for easily 50% of our running plays. I cannot for the life of me figure out what we're trying to accomplish with it. The only way it works is if the DE chases a butterfly somewhere.. The only reason it doesn't lost yards every time we run it is because Zeke and Pollard are strong enough to wriggle forward for a yard or two carrying a 270 pound man on their backs.
