A third rounder is a premium pick ?
Yes. Day 1 an day 2 are the premium picks of the NFL draft.

Nevermind, he also just signed a new 3 year deal paying him 18MM per while also costing a day 2 pick. Oh he also won a championship.

Meanwhile our guy is on the street, hasn't been a top performer in years and was severly outplayed by a 5th rounder at his position.

I repeat. What a blunder.

You actually think we wouldn't have ruined Ramsey too?

You are hating on the wrong guy.
Especially with Marinelli being the DC at the time. I think Zeke was the right decision to draft. Its just a shame our coaches were terrible until we got Mike and Quinn. Imagine if we had them in 2016.

I said emphatically during training camp that Mike Fisher would be wrong and that 2022 will be Zeke's last season with the Cowboys. Click on my quote for the link.
The Cowboys moved on from Murray after he rushed for over 1800 yards with 13 TDs. He had had some injury issues during his career and was putting on mileage. I don’t care if Zeke rushes for over 1600 yards with double digit TDs the Cowboys will move on from him. He’ll have a ton of mileage on him and the Cowboys will release him. He’s making $15 million per season splitting carries with another back. That wasn’t what the Cowboys planned on when they paid him. Mike Fisher will end up being wrong as usual if he thinks Zeke will be back in 2023.
Gonna save this post @KJJ . Will bring it back up in 2023 to see who was right: You or Fish?
:p
I was right! Lol

Congrats Zeke. Now you can go hunt for a legitimate FO/Organization on your quest for a ring. Belichick loves those old "washed up" RB's.

Peak Zeke was great, but all too fleeting. Hope he has a successful post NFL career.

I think he'd make a fantastic RB coach. The way he helped the younger backs in TC in 2021 on Hard Knocks was very impressive imo. I could see him coaching here as the RB coach.

When we drafted Zeke, I thought everyone was wrong that said you can't use a pick that high on a RB...no matter how good they might be. MANY of you said that there wasn't enough shelf life on them to warrant a pick at the top of the first round.

100%, I thought you were all wrong. After only 5 years and TWO contracts, I stand corrected. The last two years Zeke has looked like a great 7th round blocking back. He's been a guy with little pop and a good head on his shoulders. A roll player at best. We really got two good years, one abbreviated year and two years of hoping the back-up could get in the game.

This makes me seriously question giving Pollard any sort of fat contract. Despite having fresher legs than Zeke, odds are he's washed up in two years. :-(

Whoa, it happened. Appreciate all he did for the team. A big part of making 2016 an exciting year for Cowboys football. We've never reached that level since, IMO.

Yup, I think we take a back in round 4 this year, and another back next year to replace Pollard.
