I do feel sorry for the guy when it comes to free agency, though. If your boss told you to go buy him a meal and then handed you two dollars, you're not going to come back with much.

Now, the one thing I don't know is how much of the low spending in FA is on McClay. I mean, if he signed off instead of fighting it, then that's his own fault. If I was him, I'd take my rep elsewhere to show what I can do, unless I know that this is all on me.

You really thought, not only that this roster was good, but that going 12-5 for the four straight seasons was going to happen despite the odds of a team going exactly 12-5 four years in a row is astronomically low.

Mine was 10-7 after our poor free agency. That's looking like a pipe dream, too.

You actually believe drafting Deuce was McCarthy‘s idea? Jerry makes the final decision on who we draft and if Vaughn’s father wasn’t a scout for the team, he very likely wouldn’t have been drafted by us. Jerry thought it would make a good story to draft him. They spent almost the entire post draft presser on day 3 talking about Deuce and his father while shedding tears.

While that may be true, Vaughn seems to have been taken about where he was projected. The primary reason he went late was his size (which lowers the likelihood of success) and his speed for his size. Little guys who make it in the league generally have to be burners.

Things go south quickly for most running backs in this league.

Any RB who led the league twice in rushing in his first three years needs to holdout for a bigger deal.

Y'all point to players who are broke after having been in the league and making a bunch of money and proclaim they are idiots.
