Funny how some will still say Dez is a distraction and only cares about himself but his quote saying "it's not about me -- it's about this win" just proves what type of team player he really is.

It's because those clowns just have an agenda

Hey I'll take some party animals if they bring home a ring...

Problem is, the league is a much different place than it was 20 years ago with respect to league action on that. We've had too many stupid suspensions lately. Just saying, that's all. Really like both the big rooks.

I don't doubt Zeke claim of what matters is winning instead of focusing on rookie rushing record. But don't kid yourself Zeke would be thrilled to reach it. These are still competitors and reaching a mile stone like that would be something he would and should be proud of if he were to reach it.

Of course he would be thrilled, but his point is it's not a focus for him and it's about the team. If he does reach it he will be proud, but that also means the team will be winning and he gets to be proud of the guys who helped him achieve it. I have no doubt that he will recognize the whole team if he does.

I get that, he wants to win. As he said when he got drafted he is use to winning and that is what he expect to do with the Cowboys. I think that is great. All I'm saying is players will have personal goals just as well just as Emmitt had a goal saying in his rookie season of breaking Walter Peyton record. I fully agree that any and all of those personal records are in large part to the players around him helping him achieve it, heck that is why Emmitt would buy his OL and Moose expensive gifts to show his thanks and why he gave them credit when he was inducted to the HOF

"13 years ago, a rookie walked into my room. He was my roommate. We talked about the things we wanted to accomplish on the football field. The first thing he said to me, and we were not a good team at the time, was he wanted to win Super Bowls for you guys, and he did that. He said he wanted to win rushing titles, and he did that. He said he wanted to win MVPs, and he did that. His last goal, which I thought was a fantasy, was to become the all-time leading rusher in the NFL. And today, he did that," said Michael Irvin.

Notice how ESPN etc don't show him out there the last 4 weeks being a leader, rooting his team mates on. Probably cause it doesn't fit their narrative.

That's the part that's impressive. For a 21-year-old kid to take on the challenge to not allow his individual goals be what drives the media narrative about this team's season is good to see.

I agree. I'm sure most players 25 and under, before they start their families, party to an extent. Just stay away from the law and pass your drug tests and you'll be fine.

Let's wait and see how Dez handles being the #2 or #3 wr.....

Whatever works to make the team win... But I'm curious who is the 1 and 2 if that is the case? I mean you since your statement is completely factless.

Dez not want to discuss his injury after the GB game because "it's not about me -- it's about this win;" the team dinner
Seven out of ten people will only discuss a poor experience at a restaurant, rather than compliment it.

And 95% of CowboysZone will create a 20 page thread of every little thing that Dez says that they don't like and never mention great quotes like these.

I just hope the doing part keeps up. ZE and Prescott both like to party at times, just hope it's not something we see be a problem. I can't imagine how hard it must be to keep it straight in that team, in that city when you're the talk of the town. We've seen it for decades now.

Is every post of yours underlined with cynicism??

Didn't Emmitt say he wanted to break the NFL rushing record when he came in the league?

Nothing wrong with goals!
I don't think he said it publicly though. It was a different world back then without all this social media. We all heard about that goal years later when the story came out that he wrote down his goals in an old fashioned notebook. The Public didn't hear that story until he was about to break Payton's record.
