That's the part that's impressive. For a 21-year-old kid to take on the challenge to not allow his individual goals be what drives the media narrative about this team's season is good to see.

Even if he does seek the individual goals it's smart of him not to say so

He seems media savvy and that's a good thing. A lot better than the jack-leg in NY that costs his team penalty yards and enjoys being mounted by a kicking net

When he does start doing endorsements..

his 'feed me" will look good on a Wheaties box.

Next year...
So true
I know someone was complaining about it but that's part of marketing yourself and helps motivate him
I want to see more of it

Never said that... but good try

You said Let's see how Dez does being the number 2 or 3. So you implied he wouldn't be the #1 wr.

Winning cures all. Always has, always will.

Zeke knows what great fortune it is to play behind that line. Dak does, too. Both are mature beyond their years that way.

And Zeke is the best RB in the NFL right now, bar none. He doesn't need a stat to know that.
did the attitude come because we are winning or the other way around?

Wow, you're the definition of the term "reaching at straws". I implied that he's not the #1 option.....

You didn't state option but cool story

Just like you implying I said anything about Beasley not being able to get open without Dez. Smh

What a hack..................

Hack? I think most top players have high goals. Irvin was constantly looking to the best in the league at that time which was Jerry Rice and when he was achieving that standard of play it not only benefited the Cowboys it benefited Irvin. It is putting the highest standards on yourself. No doubt winning is the 1st and most important goal but setting the bar high in what you expect from yourself is part of what makes the best player who they are.

I don't think he said it publicly though. It was a different world back then without all this social media. We all heard about that goal years later when the story came out that he wrote down his goals in an old fashioned notebook. The Public didn't hear that story until he was about to break Payton's record.

So the only difference is the social media but not the desire to be the best. I don't care if a player comes out and says his goal is to be the best as long as his #1 goal is to do what the team ask of him so that team goal can be achieved

Yeah, I'd rather talk about a run at the rookie record rather than player relationships.

Probably because I'm a man.

I'm guessing the media brings it up because Zeke himself first mentioned wanting to break that record.

A testament to Jason Garrett. And I've been a big Jason Garrett detractor the last few years, but I don't know, seems like his message is resonating around the team.

Yeah, and he's beginning to find the right guys who fit his philosophy. He has turned the culture around. Kudos to him for that, after last years debacle I was ready to see him go.

Seriously dude. How can any Cowboys fan read that list of HISTORICAL accomplishments and be serious in calling Emmitt a hack. Get a grip bro. So obvious a tongue in cheek comment.

I can't believe I had to defend that post..... really, I can't. But whatever.

Didn't Emmitt say he wanted to break the NFL rushing record when he came in the league?

Nothing wrong with goals!

And Tyron said before his first training camp that he wanted to be a HOFer, some got upset about that.

I'm mostly impressed that a rookie publicly stated a lofty goal, is actually on pace to achieve it...and yet would rather see the attention directed elsewhere. Bodes well for the locker room.

You know..

Kenny Gant was one of my favorite Cowboys..

he was a Special team demon and played on defense when they ran 8 DBs..

when he made a tackle on kick returns..

he would put a shark fin on his helmet like a shark..

and the fans went crazy.

So Zeke can eat all the spinach he wants.

I just hope the doing part keeps up. ZE and Prescott both like to party at times, just hope it's not something we see be a problem. I can't imagine how hard it must be to keep it straight in that team, in that city when you're the talk of the town. We've seen it for decades now.
The hardest thing is all those women I'm sure.. that would be my krytonite.

What are you talking about? I'm a big Smith fan and those achievement he earned is something every top RB should strive for just as Emmitt strived for his goals of being a leading rusher of winning SB and being an MVP and a long range goal of being the all time leading rusher. My hope for Elliott is him setting the same high bar for himself.

You used the work hack and I responded hack? as if what are you talking about?
