Zeke vs San Francisco

Every time I see Zeke get the ball It reminds of the Harlem Nights scene where Arsenio hall and 2 friends are shooting at Eddie Murphy in a building. Lots of bullets coming from Arsenio and friend machine guns and then the guy doing one little potshot from a small pistol. Pollard is the Tommy gun getting multiple yards per carry and Zeke is the small pistol getting one step. "Stop it. Don't you shoot that little mofo no more!"

Does anyone feel like it will be a waste of plays and downs running zeke against SF?

We need to use pollard strong in this game if we want to seriously win.

There is no use *****footing around with zeke in this game. The only time I'd run zeke is literally on "a down & 1", "a down & inches" goalline, or to give pollard rest, and even at that...it should be a pass play where zeke is blocking.

I hate saying this stuff but SF is not the game to overly or even halfway showcase zeke.

I predict Zeke will surprise you this game and play big

Ironically this defense is a better matchup for Zeke than the last three opponents we've faced. They are good on the interior but not HUGE like those last three fronts. That means our up front guys will be able to get movement. That will create creases for both backs to hit. Zeke can't go sideways worth a damn anymore ... He might be able to if he's willing to take that brace off and get back closer to normal. However the 49ers defense is a fast flowing defense which might neutralize TP to the edges. But mainly it's going to come down to getting them blocked. Do that and all the backs can eat. Then you can use Zeke to move the chains and TP to create explosive plays. That's the winning formula. I hope they stick to it.

do not understand the need we had great year , great playoff win and this place stil feels the need to be the FO , coach, GM, and player evaluator. they got us this far let them decide who plays and how much,

"Tough yards" is code for slow and unproductive. Do NOT run Zeke at SF. Every down wasted with 2 yards and a cloud of dust will put the offense in a hole. 3rd and 7 or 2nd and 8 will allow SF to peel their ears back and focus on pressure.

Zeke is a waste of a play pretty much no matter who we play. He should be used to spell Pollard, nothing more.

This is an old old video of Zeke. Zeke is built like a truck now. No evasivness, depleted speed. The Zeke in this video NEVER tapped out. Zeke is listed at 225 lbs. I wonder how would he play at 212 lbs. I really miss 2016 Zeke....

I miss the old Zeke as well. But father time is undefeated. He is a shell of himself. Losing weight will not heal surgically altered knees. Dallas has to let go and stop wasting carries on him.

They should feed Pollard and Malik only

I still think they need both if we are to pull this off, but at this point I’d start Pollard and use Zeke as a change of pace guy.

Maybe he will be more effective once the defense is a little gassed.

Actually Zeke has never had surgery on that beat up knee.. but he may need to. I didn't like his playing on it for so many games last year and by not having offseason surgery to clean it up he left it more susceptible to re-injury or just plain old stiffness and inflammation. It is what it is.. He's not going to get any healthier until the offseason so if his body is too beat up at this point in the season to be productive then by all means feed Pollard. But I'm not making that decision until I see him run on Sunday. Or if he looks sluggish all week I start off with Pollard and come in with Zeke as the curve ball.

Zeke seems money if you need 1 yard and under. He'll be out there as long as they allow him too. With that being said, they do seem willing to tilt the favor to Pollard if Zeke shows to be unproductive. Hopefully, when it's decided, we wont be down at that point.

Zeke still gets it done. He gives the best power running to compliment Pollard.

Where is the power? He barely averaged 2 yds a carry over the last few games. He doesn't run over anyone. He can't break the first tackle.

Zeke is a short yardage back at this point and should be used accordingly.

I believe that is right, they should give Zeke a FB, I think the young OC like Kellen undervalue the position, imagine Emmitt without Moose, totally different story.
I love Zeke I hope he has a good game this monday.
