Zeke has A LOT of tread on his tires, does it make sense to limit him (like Tyron Smith) in training camp and the regular season practices to get as much out of him on game day as possible? He’s a vet and MM run scheme isn’t complicated. Just curious what yall think.

I think we'll go back to treating him like we did before where he didn't play in the preseason. He may get a series or two just to work with the line in a game, but I don't think we'll see him much until the season starts.

He's a washed up has been. Why is anyone wasting life contemplating him?
Because he’s likely RB1, if not outright given the FO obsession with nepotism then when Dowdle gets injured. Did you know Dowdle has had injuries requiring missed games every yr since at least his freshman yr in college. A few being season ending.

It's crazy everyone says Zeke has a lot of tread on him.... Christian McCaffrey was drafted a year after Zeke and is still churning like no other.

And Zeke has over 800 more attempts, that’s like 3 full seasons more condensed in the same timeframe.

I'm hoping that the moves that Dallas made in the draft might improve the OL's performance enough to make Zeke look like a real winner again! Granted that it's certainly not a sure thing that he'll immediately look like the rookie that he once was upon joining the Cowboys' team in the past. Nevertheless, there's nothing to prevent him from being better than he was with the Patriots. Hopefully, this OL may prove an advantage for him.

I disagree, he’s not a rb1 anymore, just doesn’t have that skill set - he’s going to be a role player.

Dallas isn’t done addressing the rb position yet

Lets not limit that to Training Camp, hope it transcends into the Regular Season. Hopefully, with this line we can draw up a better running game.

The ewok is a one dimensional runner who if he doesn't have a hole you can drive a tractor trailer through, he gets stuffed at or behind the line.

Old Mr. Scotch and Bourbon was hitting the sauce big time when he brought Elliot back. Not only did he sign him for 3 mill, but he's still paying him 6 mill from his last contact. That's 9 mill for a retread.

The amount of people on this board that are actually relying on Zeke Elliott this season is absolutely astonishing
Agree and many here are hoping that these OL draft picks will step in and look like pro bowlers. The offensive line might be worse than last year. Substantially worse.

The FO are potentially basing the running game on the theory that with Guyton (second level), Beebe (hole digging in the middle), Steele (a year further away from ACL) and Schoon (turning up for work and doing what he was advertised to do- block), then anyone could run the rock.....and Jerry thought he'd give a contract to 'His Guy'.
