I wish I could remember where I read or heard it but not surprised to hear about this with Zimm because Parcells once had an open candid interview about some of his ‘tree.’ He did mention — without throwing him under the bus - there was concern at first if Zimm could handle some of this as a head coach because of his personality. Parcells was a screamer too but could smooth it out with his Jersey Boy sense of humor.

He wouldn't address his team before he left because they got him fired.

Seems childish.
Zimmer is so one and done here.......The players already know he's a ******. His schemes are soft trash....bend but don't break...And when things go South.......and they will....The players are gonna revolt.....Just watch.

When the GM drafts players without the coach's input, the team has moved on from the coach at that point.

In typical Florio fashion, he says ..

Zimmer confirmed something we’d heard as the 2021 draft began: “The first round, Rick tried to trade up for Justin Fields, who hasn’t done anything.”
The Bears eventually moved from No. 20 to No. 12 to snatch Fields. And it’s unfair and inaccurate for Zimmer to say Fields “hasn’t done anything.” He’s a very dangerous runner. He’s developing as a passer. He could end up being the starter in Pittsburgh, at some point this season.

Zimmer said Fields hasn't done anything .. and he hasn't. Florio of course tries to contradict it while using phrases like "is developing" and "could end up", which are not based on what he has done but simply what Florio thinks he might do one day.

The only thing you can say about Fields is that he's a fast runner, but the NFL is filled with "fast runners".
Sounds like the same baloney we've heard and dealt with here in Dallas concerning Trey Lance.

Mike Zimmer was correct about Justin Fields. Trey Lance is an exact replica of Justin Fields. Jerry Jones is another Rick Spielman. Simply not good enough as a G.M..

Terence Newman backstabbing Zimmer and talking smack about him to the media doesn't surprise me. Zimmer coached him up in Dallas. Then made him his assistant D-backs coach and took T-New with him wherever Zimmer went. For all of that, Terence Newman backstabbed Zimmer big time in front of the media. It's not surprising. T-New always looked like a rat you can't trust. Sad to see Coach Zim be treated that way from an ex-player he took under his wing and treated him like a son. Screw that rat Terence Newman!

I like Zim but he makes himself look like a petty delusional jerk, with the things he says. Tbe players got him fired? Way to be accountable.

I can already predict the future. Zimmer was an ******* and didn't know how to get the most out of today's players like Micah. So glad he is gone. Insert xyzcoordinator is really gonna make a big difference.

Rinse repeat every couple of years on Cowboys fanboards.
You may be right in your prediction. While Zimmer is not my first choice, I will take a hard nose coach that doesn't inflate egos for this group of players. Dallas has so much hype that a coach must be able to keep the players grounded.

Norv Turner resigned mid-season with Zimmer. This was after Zimmer went and consulted Hugh Jackson about offense, “behind the back” of Norv. Of course this split was presented by both parties as amicable, but what is clear is that there differences in philosophy between Zimmer and Norv.

Maybe indicative of Zimmer being a control freak.

Exactly. Like a grown adult.
Makes me think of when HC Mike Singletary pulled his pants down at halftime and starting pistol whipping his core players with his trunk.

That's a true motivator

Zimmer is 68. I think he is one and done here because McCarthy is likely not brought back and the new couch will likely want somebody new and younger.

If we have any brains we are already sceptical and don't even start to get hyped up. A washed up coach who has failed already some time ago in Dallas and was recently fired by another NFL team...

In the end all that counts are post season results. If they go far, it was a good move. If not, bye bye.

You are arguing a completely different point that is completely unrelated to what I posted.

Zimmer said Fields has not done anything .. and so far, he has not. Maybe that will change .. one day. As of now though, Fields is a bust until he maybe one day proves otherwise.

The point was that Florio was claiming what Zimmer said about Fields was wrong, and it's actually very accurate at this point.

Whether Zimmer is a good or bad coach is irrelevant to that fact.
Correction, Fields lost the starting job to Russel Wilson..,,very impressive

Kinda like the rubbish he stated about Dez years ago. Still waiting on the tape. How has Dez not sued Florio (a supposed lawyer) for defamation for this?
If he has not sued it can only be because its not “defamation” or he’d just as soon not stir things up he may not want brought to light.

He’s on a one year deal with a head coach in the same boat. And the old school crap doesn’t fly. Micah has a podcast and is such an effective player he can literally say anything he wants and there’s nothing Zimmer or McCarthy can do about. If your approach as a coach doesn’t fit in the contemporary NFL you’ll very quickly be shown the exit door.
