FEATURED A standing ovation for a future HOFer

2nd best OG we've ever had in Cowboys history ... thanks for the services and memories Zack. .

. next stop Hall of Fame inductee

So since Dan Marino never won a SB he should not be in the HOF.

The idiocy of comments like those are incredible.
Funny you mention Dan, cause just this week I was checking out his playoff numbers on PFR(they weren't pretty)

What if I say that maybe Marino needs to be reevaluated. Maybe he was just the original Matty Ice--Phillip Rivers--the guy with the Rams.

For the sake of argument who’s to say Johnny might not have had some success here. We had a pretty good offense. Maybe he could have found his magic here.

Problem was he probably couldn’t have beat out Romo. But he would have got a shot when Romo went down.

No one was having any success in Cleveland. Horrible situation at that time.

Bottomline is we didn’t need heir apparent at that time. And why Martin was the solid pick. Jethro just entertained the thought cause he worried if Johnny had success he’d be bashed for passing on him.
Because Manziel sucked. Everyone knew it. Jerry wanting him was to feed his ego and be the smartest guy in the room. Johnny admittedly out of his mouth was spoiled, rich, no work ethic and ego driven. He’s one of the worst prospects to ever be taken that high. It’s alarming Jerry would’ve even considered it.

Only reason he did was he didn’t want to look the fool for passing on him if he was a hit.

We’ll never know if Manziel had fallen into a more talented offense or situation he might have had some success.

Most critics believe why so many top drafted QB’s are bust is they go to crappy teams and situations.

I wasn’t a fan but teams needing QB’s often stretch in draft out of need. Fortunately we weren’t in need.

And everyone didn’t know as he was a 1st rd pick and Heisman.

I was saddened but not surprised to see the great Zack Martin decide it was time to retire. Guys with this level of greatness deserve more than just a round of applause. This is the kind of player that does not come along often. Zack Martin will have a bust in Canton and his name in the Cowboys Ring of Honor.

Martin is one of the greatest players EVER to wear the star as a Dallas Cowboy. He will be remembered along with other great Cowboys Hall of Fame offensive lineman like Larry Allen, Rayfield Wright, and another eventual HOFer Tyron Smith.

Look at some of Martin’s unbelievable accomplishments as a player:
  • 7 time FIRST TEAM ALL PRO
  • 2 time SECOND TEAM ALL PRO
  • NFL All Decade Team 2010-19
  • Had 7 accepted holding penalties for his entire career (that alone is astounding)
One sad asterisk on a truly all time great player is the fact Martin will be one of only a handful of Hall of Famers to never play in a conference championship game or a Super Bowl. But what a truly awesome career.

When we see greatness like this retire, a salute and standing ovation is in order. Thank you Zack Martin!
Another HOF career wasted by our amateur GM.
That's a crying shame.

I mean let’s also put it in perspective that Baker didn’t look nearly as bad as a Brown. He had a few quality seasons. Lack of talent is why the Browns suck. Lack of work ethic is why Manziel sucked. He’s sucked even post NFL career. You can’t just wake up and play professional sports. Everyone is too talented.

He was a Heisman candidate because he donated college talent. When the draft came around and I remember like it was yesterday there were concerns about his work ethic and size. His lifestyle in college was predicted by many. A lot of teams did not have him on their board and it’s no coincidence the Brown and Jerry are the one team that took him and the other team who admitted they wanted to take him.
