Dak is the fourth oldest starting QB in the league

Look at the top QBs in the league now. Not just the starting QBs which can be placeholders or just what they could get.
Daniel is interesting........25 yo rookie
My goodness......he will be 29-30 when his rookie contract ends. If he can get at least 1 Super Bowl, imagine the bag he's going to get within the next 3-4 years ( $70-75M ??? )

I wonder. Is Dak’s contract going to be “a bridge too far”? Purdy is younger and has had more playoff success than Dak. If he doesn’t get what Dak got it might signal a change in thinking and direction for quarterback compensation.

Man, where do you guys come up with this stuff LOL

Thanks for sharing this. There are some that think Dak is still “developing”. We should all be expecting his skill to decline at this point.
This is the real issue with Dak and the unfortunate truth. The odds of Dak starting to decline entering year 10 and coming off a significant lower body injury is very high. Granted the rest of the offense wasn't that great either, but I think we saw some serious signs of that this past season prior to the injury.

Thanks @Hawkeye0202 for this post, very interesting from the ages to the almost exclusive 1st round pick club.

Dak should be entering his prime and playing at a high level because he should have seen it all and know how to beat it. 32 is ok, it's just thinking of 36 y.o. Dak is concerning.

It seems the NFL is in favor of QBs entering the league a couple years older than normal because of the experience, so they should play better or be more comfortable than a typical rookie QB.

* 2025 draft projected 1st Round QBs are all 23 or younger.

Jayden Daniels

Birthdate: December 18, 2000

Celebrated his 24th birthday four days before Washington defeated the Eagles 36-33 in Week 15 of the 2024 season.

Will some folks say Daniels is entering his sophomore year at 26 years old when the 2025 NFL season begins this coming September? This and more bad math coming soon to a post near you.

If the 49ers were offering Purdy $60 million per season he would have signed by now. Stafford is playing well, has already led his team to a Super Bowl victory, the Rams are considering what they’re going to do, and he’s paid substantially less than Dak. The crazy deals for Watson, Wilson, and Dak’s current deal has to make teams think hard about what they’re doing in deference to quarterback compensation.

Not saying your wrong, but that's giving jerry a LOT of credit! :muttley:
Either that or a serious coincidence (lol)

Dak's deal has an out after the 2027 season........5 years was a deal breaker for Jerry and MM. Shotty only got 4 years .....2028 ( exact same year Dak becomes a FA)

In other words, it appears this is Dak's last contract as a Dallas Cowboys. I'm not a contract expert but it seems his contract is very tradable after the 2026 season. ( if he waives the no trade clause )

I heard the 49ers are offering $53-55M to Purdy........if this is true, they are basically saying Dak's contract is an outlier.

We know Dak's age but man, he looks old on this chart............

Kinda throw this .........little crazy (lol)

Yep, and that is why he will not finish the season. This is a young man's game and he is not young anymore, plus he is mentally and physically injured. One hard hit and he will get injured, one hard game and he will go mental.

Hey, but he got his bag, so it's all good (that is what his fans think).
