Jane Slater breaks down Cowboys' offseason moves so far 'The Insiders'

Knowing how Jerry operates, you just know he’ll probably wanna try and recreate 2016’s magic by pairing Dak with a fresher version of Zeke in Jeanty.

They also historically have like Boise State players.

Writing seems to be on the wall.

We’ll see.
I have zero doubt this is the strategy.

They'll draft Jeanty thinking they will grind out the games, keeping the defense off the field, etc. And because of that, they'll ignore DT yet again, cobble together a DL of JAGs outside of Parsons.

Yep. If they are serious about going RB in the 1st, I'd trade down twice and then grab Omarion Hampton. They could probably get a 3rd and 4th moving down twice.th
I would re-sign Rico and draft a runner in the 3rd or 4th round. Rico averaged 4.6 without the immortal Zack Martin and had a success rate 53.6. Which was higher than Barkley. Look for Barkley's production to dramatically drop in 2025.

You want some notes? Here you go - it's about the Cowboys.

It's just a short video Coog. Take 2 minutes from your busy schedule and go watch.

I already know you didn't even click on the link.
damn I don't watch the games, and I can't watch your video instead of supporting my family, damn why do I even waste your time!!!

Even Jane doesn't know much more yet. Neither do we. Is the combine this weekend? We might learn more seeing who we are work with and interviewing.

Explain why
Charissa has become about fairly odious. From the whole admitting she fakes interviews thing to the whole Sam Darnold thing with Erin Andrews. She also just the feel about her that the only interesting about her is looks ( and well other things related to her looks I probably shouldn't talk about). I felt bad for her about the whole Icloud leak, but over the years, its been difficult to respect her.

Jane always comes off like a professional. She also mixes the lifestyle of a jet setting model with a goofy and approachable persona.

Cowboys used a running back by committee approach in 2024?

Who knew

I didn't know Boise State was from North Texas. JJ is definitely bringing him home

hope that boise st pipe-line continues with jeanty.
and as a vet back-up,maybe alexander mattison.

I will take Henderson over Jeanty.
Jeanty getting too much hype.

They can get a stud LB in the first, take Judkins in the 2nd. Even though I do not know where he is projected to go. Just putting his name out there also. Maybe Singleton.

Yeah I think there some really good options that could be 2nd maybe even available in the 3rd round. This is a deep RB draft according to the experts. Given their stupidity in FA, they can't afford to take a RB at 12 IMO (unless their board is wiped out). You need to go DL IMO. Your DT position is a wasteland and could get worse if Osi gets paid a ton to leave. Lawrence is out. Kneeland is coming off a knee injury. You got Parsons and that's it in terms of talent along the DL. That's literally it.

You just saw a team that takes the DL seriously, especially DT, manhandled the Chiefs, because in part, their DL dominated the game.

You better hope and pray there is a DL there at 12. And then hope and pray Jerry and his son don't stupidly pass on one of them to take a freaking running back.

Jane Slater: Dallas like Boise St Guys so Ashton Jeanty is a possibility at pick 12

Kellen Moore sitting at pick number 9: Hold my beer
Newsflash

a newb HC, first timer at that on a new team, NOR even most HCs make this call.. almost ZERO influence on the drafts.. thats a GM/Owner/Scout. I realize the BS connection but that not how it works.

Only caveat might be this. He's been in the building dealing with the Joneses and the scouts , this includes McClay. He's been here for a few years now. So while he now has new job duties, and the HC title, I expect he will have some influence on draft day. This said, do we really want the HC influencing who we draft when it's the scouts job to build the board etc? I think if there's a draft criteria and plan, the scouts will be able to build the board and the staff won't need to pound the table very hard. Just let the scouts do what they do and let's pick good players. We can sort it all out in camp. Let's get some fresh meat in here.

It went poorly when McCarthy influenced a few of our picks. I almost don't need the hc sitting in the war room at all when drafting. Rather have my scouts in there with McClay and thats it. Let McClay get the consensus and make the final call.

I agree. Let them put together the board as to BPA. Period.

Where I disagree with McClay’s philosophy on that. He said when MM came in, they will sit down and see what type of players they were looking for to draft for their style and schemes. They will draft players and fit the system to that player.
Which sounded great.

As opposed to Garrett, they drafted players they liked and would try to make that player change to fit their system.
The old putting a square peg into a hole. Them MM was we will change our hole for the player to fit.

Neither one really worked out that great, but MM had the right idea.

So do not put the board together based on what players you like.
Do BPA regardless and go with who is there.
Do away with the 1st round grade crap. As that can be skewed as well.
