I love how so many fans love to remark negatively without watching the interview or hearing the question.
He was asked specifically if Dallas can compete with Philly. “I don’t want to say look at the record because the Eagles just won the SB (they deserve credit and congratulations), but we have competed with them.“ Asked again, he says what any player would say, “we’re close” to competing with Eagles….the question.

Ask any starter on any team that finished below .500 this year If they can compete with their division winner. Not one will say “no.”
Not one. At least Dak didn’t say YES. He said we‘re close. Fans have just fallen into such a pathetic loser mentality that if we won our first 5 games next season and lost our 6th, at 5-1, there would be a host of posters claiming, “same old Cowboys…loser.”

These guys are t out there talking just to be heard….unless they have a podcast. These guys are living their lives, helping others.
Dak is at the Children’s Cancer research event, talking with children, parents, raising money for cancer research. Most of his comments are about that, what he’s seen in the faces of some of these children, how he relates even more now that he’s a father, but reporters start asking football questions. He answers as quickly and simply as possible.

There’s a time and place for your frustrations and even hatred. Sadly, many of these posts with links have taken on the impact of Facebook and other social media. Clickbait headlines, so no one reads or watches with an open mind….just attack the headline.

Reading into Dak’s comments last year, you could sense dissention in the ranks. Sounds like he’s been pleased with the changes and is back in full company man mode. Happy QB is not a bad thing, right?

If you want to nit-pick at what he said as being a stretch - you’ve got a leg to stand on. But would you prefer that he stand, shoulders slumped, at the podium and say, “The staff’s not bad, Schottenheimer is a puppet, Jerry won’t spend **** in free agency, we don’t have the personnel to truly compete, but I’ll be out there giving it a go anyway”? I thought he represented himself and the organization very well with his comments.

Besides, when comparing the Cowboys to the Commanders and the Eagles is he way off? I know the Birds have a dominant roster, but would you be shocked if a fully healthy Cowboys team went 2-2 against the two teams that competed in the CCG? I wouldn’t. Pretty sure that’s the lens he’s looking through when makes comments about the Cowboys being able to really compete.

Gonna be a long spring and summer if this is what is being heavily criticized 204 days away from the kickoff of the 2025 season.
